Bill August 31, 2014 Does the feller paddle move away for the ice maker or remain stationary under the unit? Purchased new unit AP4345120 and paddle is under unit and does not make full contact with ice to shut the ice maker down when bin is full. If it does move out, there must be a trick to accomplish this.
1 Answer The icemaker that you have, the paddle does come out but not really far. When the icemaker cycles it slides back underneath the icemaker then pushes back out. If you are having an issue where it is making too much ice then you would want to get paddle part number WR49X10103 which will correct this issue. Read More...
Richard G August 31, 2014 for Model Number GE Fridge Hi Our ice maker has stopped and I see that the problem is a cracked nylon gearwheel p/n AP2068317. Yo have it listed in stock at $9.10. That's all good news but I am in Sydney Australia, and you say that you don't ship overseas. The gear wheel is small enough to fit into an airmail envelope - are you prepared to sell me one and post it? Please! If so please advise price and eft info and I will pay and send address to you.
1 Answer Richard, Unfortunately we do not ship overseas and the only way that you could get the part from use would be if you have someone in the United states that you can have sent to and then them send it to you. Read More...
Bill August 28, 2014 I Purchased from Appliance parts pro a new ice maker kit #AP4345120 . Installation was simple and is making an abundant amount of ice. Problem is the maker will not shut down when ice bin is full. Manually shutting off and on as needed. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Bill. Make sure the bucket is correct where the ice can fill to hit the bottom feller arm on the unit. Read More...
Steve B August 17, 2014 for Model Number DSS26DHWASS My ice maker is not making ice. I have forced a cycle in the ice maker by turning off and then back on again and pressing the paddle arm 3times within 15 seconds and watched the ice maker cycle. However, in the process no water was dispensed into the ice maker. I am getting in a glass from the dispenser in the freezer door. How can I get water from the door yet no water will fill the ice maker?
1 Answer Hello Steve. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Leon August 04, 2014 I just received my new Ice maker kit (WR30X10093) and the instructions in the manual tells me to remove the stripper plate from the new kit and replace with the stripper plate out of the old ice maker. my question is "why is this necessary" it seems they would be the same, thanks
1 Answer Hello Leon, It is only necessary if the failure you are correcting caused damage to the old harvest rake. If it is un-damaged, this part does not have to be installed. Read More...
Linda August 01, 2014 for Model Number TFX26PPDAWW My GE Profile side by side ice maker continues to make ice, even when the bin is totally overflowing. The small metal arm, which is supposed to turn off the icemaker when ice level gets high, no longer clicks up or responds to the ice level. Thus, the ice bin just keeps filling. I have to manually lift the metal bar which stops ice production, then remember to lower it again when ice level gets low.. Any idea of a fix for this? Is there a part I need, or does the entire thing have to be replaced? Thanks.
1 Answer Linda, The most likely cause for the icemaker not shutting off would be a bad switch in the icemaker. The part number needed would be WR29X5171. If you decide to try to replace this switch, you will want to pay very close attention to how the icemaker comes apart because there will be several gears that come out as well in order to replace the switch. If you decide not to replace the switch then you would need to get the icemaker kit WR30X10093. Read More...
