Gail July 02, 2014 for Model Number GSS23SGSBSS I have a 7/8 year old GE refrigerator. The Ice maker does not work and no water comes from the water dispenser. Do I need a new Ice Maker or is their maybe another cause?
1 Answer Hello Gail. You need to check the filter and the water valve on the unit. You can test the valve with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Lisa July 01, 2014 for Model Number tfx22krdaww The ice maker shut off arm will not stop the ice maker from making ice when in the full position (all the way up). The ice machine itself is working and makes plenty of ice. I have to empty the tray nearly every other day. What part do I need to replace? Thank You!
1 Answer Hello Lisa. You will need to look for a bad micro-switch WR29X5171 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Scott S. June 26, 2014 for Model Number 363.58472890 I have an ice maker problem. The part number in question is WR30X0328. Water is being filled in the unit way too often causing it to overflow. I do not know if the ice cube maker calls for the water or does something in the refrigerator does. I know the water valve is working well because the water is called for and then stops. So my first question is does this sound like an ice maker problem? The other question is about the replacement you offer. My unit has a fill cup on the far right side which is filled by a tube from the back. I can understand how this unit will work as a replacement for mine. How is that accomplished. I know I could not accommodate the fill cup in the location shown in the video because there is no room as the ice maker is mounted to the back of the fridge. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Scott, This issue can be a sticking switch in the icemaker or a water valve going into failure. Either one could cause an over-fill situation. There could also be a water pressure fluctuation from the home plumbing that would cause the water valve to close too slowly. This would cause an overfill intermittently. As far as making the new ice maker work, there is an instruction sheet with it that explains how to put the fill flume in either of two locations. Read More...

Carl May 01, 2014 for Model Number PSCF3RGXCFBB I have a GE refrigerator, only about 3 years old. The arm seems to be stuck in the back position, will not move forward. The ice maker is making a little sound likes it wants to work. I tried turning the switch off and waiting and then moving the arm 3 times to see if it would reset, no luck. Used a hair dryer to heat things up, still no luck, arm still stuck in that one position. Thanks. Carl
1 Answer Hello Carl. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you will need to replace the icemaker WR30X10093 in the unit. Read More...
Tim April 30, 2014 for Model Number TPX24PBZCWW Water is slowly leaking into ice maker fill tube and fill cup when water dispenser is activated. Result is that water is freezing in the bottom of the fill cup. After about a week the fill tube is completely blocked with an ice plug and the fill tube pulls off of part #270 on the back of the freezer and water runs down the back of the freezer compartment. I have removed fill tube and melted the ice in fill cup with hair dryer to clear ice. Problem repeats.
1 Answer Hello Tim. It sounds like you need to order and replace the water valve kit WR49X10043 on the unit. Read More...
Steve April 29, 2014 for Model Number GSS23QGTA The feeler arm broke of the ice maker and now it does not make any ice cubes. Would this cause the ice maker to shut down?
