Lawrence February 04, 2013 for Model Number ge gts18xcsarww we aquired this refrigerator when we bought our older home. The refridgerator is supposed to be only about 2 years old. The icemaker had never ben hooked up to a water supply. A plastic grocery bag was wrapped down into the icemakerand wrapped around the shaft with the prongs on it that pushes out the cubes. I removed the icemaker and removed the bag. I reinstalled te icemaker in the refridgerator. I intalled the water supply as required in owners manual.I put the arm down so that the icemaker would make ice. No ice.. What do I do?

I am having trouble in the ice cube compartment, the ice bin filles up and the ice clumps together causeing the auger to jam. I have raised the temperature in the freezer thinking that the ice was melting and refreezing. This did not help. In addition the flag (what I call it) at the bottom of the ice maker does not shut off the ice maker when the ice bin is full. Is there a fix for this?

Makes about a 1/2 to 3/4 full batch of cubes, then continues to fill. This results in water over-flowing all over the inside of freezer, forming tremendous stalagmites and stalactites; running onto (and through) racks... From other posts on this website, it would seem that since water pressure is not the issue, I am thinking of replacing the whole unit... Will the new #WR30X10093 replace the #----10044 that I have? Jeff January 22, 2013 for Model Number GE GSS25SGMCBS Hi...my ice maker appears to be cycling too soon not allowing the cubes to fully freeze which leaves them with water inside them or hollow which seems to leave water in the ice tray causing ice to form below the ice maker. Does the ice maker determine the cycle time or does that come from elsewhere? I have turned the ice maker switch off so that the cubes have time to freeze completely and watched the cycle occur and noticed that water dripped from the ice tray at the end of the fill cycle....not sure if it overfilled or if ice was still in the tray.
