Paul C. March 21, 2013 for Model Number AP4345120 Hello, We recently replaced a broken icemaker with this one from your site (AP4345120 ). While the icemaker IS making ice, it is doing so at a very slow rate (2 batches a day AT MOST). It is definitely getting water, and the water freezes, but it seems that it takes a long time to harvest the ice. Sometimes, I will feel frozen ice in the maker, and if I push the feeler arm in, it will begin the harvest. Is there a reason it isn't harvesting on it's own? Bob F March 17, 2013 I have a GSS23WGTA WW refrigerator and when the ice maker bucket fills up the ice maker continues to make ice until it eventually backs up the ice to the point where the water pours over the ice maker tray and drips down into the fan causing the refrigerator to fail. I can defrost it and control the bucket filling by turning off the ice maker when it gets close to full. It operates well if I time it right. You can imagine the issues this causes. I suspect that I have to replace the ice maker but when I tried to get it out it doesn't seem to fit between the walls of the freezer when I pull it straight out. Two questions:1) Am I right when I assume that I cannot replace parts in the ice maker therefore I should replace it because the swing arm is not stopping the ice production when the bucket is full . . and 2) How do I get the ice maker out and the new one in. 1 Answer Bob, It is not necessary to replace the icemaker for the overfilling issue. You would want to replace the feeler arm with a new design that will help to keep the icemaker from making too much ice. The part number for the feeler arm is WR49X10103. Afgo March 14, 2013 I noticed I have broken the plastic piece where the ice maker metal hits thru the hole to the back of the maker. It only tore up because I didn't clean out the old ice and it was stuck in the metal circular metal that moves the ice around. If the ice stuck to thebottom or on the metal piece it couldn't do its thing. It wouldn't drop ice or crush it. Water always worked. If it possible to purchase the plastic circular piece that goes into the actual ice tray. Pieces of the plastic are being dumped from the ice dispenser into my glass of water.lol Thank you.

Faith March 12, 2013 for Model Number hot point cxs26mrda I have an older refrigerator. My ice machine works fine except that the cork screw like part corrodes. I clean it with lemon juice put it back in and within a few months or less its back again. Of course in between cleanings we get flakes of the stuff in our ice. Outside of replacing the unit (which works fine) is there anything I can spray or paint on the cork screw once clean to seal it. What has happened is it has pitted and once exposed those spots oxidize and it creates rust like substance.

Dave W March 08, 2013 for Model Number psc25msta Refrigerator/I have an intermittant freezer I have an intermittent problem. The ice maker works properly for 2 to 4 days then the ice in the bucket melts and drips down into the freezer. At the same time the freezer temp will go from -3 to +3 or 4 and the Refrig side will rise from 37 to 45 or 46. With out doing anything it corrects it self. Ambient house temp runs from 67 to 74. The ice maker is new but that did not resolve the problem. It seems like the defrost cycle may be staying on too long or the temp sensor or other sensor may not be working properly. OR? I was told by a tech that the main board needed to be replaced but he made no tests to confirm it so I didn't let him change it. It was a previous tech that said the ice maker needed to be replaced. but that didn't solve the problem. I don't think much of these fast buck artists. Perhaps you have some ideas I can try. I have a multimeter and know how to use it. Thank you for your assistance.

When checking thermistors for resistance you will want to check from the main board. 1 Answer Hello Ray. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. It won't cycle because the mold heater stays on at all times even when the thermostat is open. I'm not sure what to check next, even if I figure it out I don't think it is worth fixing.
