Morgan K August 27, 2012 for Model Number TFX24PLR Nice service you have here. My ice maker works fine but the next day all of the cubes are frozen together. Saw your answer to another question about the cubes freezing together and have checked the flaper in the door and it is working just fine also. Where does my problem lay????
1 Answer Hello Morgan. Check and see if the icemaker is leaking or over filling and causing the cubes to freeze together. If so, you will need to either replace the icemaker, or the water valve on the unit to repair the issue. If the icemaker is leaking replace the icemaker. If it is over filling, replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...
Don G. August 16, 2012 for Model Number PSC23SGPASS My ice maker stopped working and I replaced the solonoid and the AP4345120 (ice maker.) It took a while for it to start working and for 3 days it made ice like crazy. Two days later it has stopped completely. The ice maker makes a soft noise like the gears turn some then retract. We need ice! Help, what do I do next?
1 Answer Hello Don, I would first check the fill tube to make sure it has no ice build-up in it. It sounds as though the ice maker assembly has a problem. If the ice maker is making a sound like the gears, chances are that the ice maker assembly is at fault. If you ordered the ice maker from us less than 365 days ago, we can honor the warranty because we guarantee all parts we sell for a full year. Read More...
Will August 15, 2012 for Model Number GE Adora stainless side by side Model #DSHS9NGYBCSS My ice maker does not make ice consistently. One day my bin will be full and then 2 days later I will have no ice. If I press the quick ice button on the digital control, that seems to get it moving again very minimally and the cubes are hollow and seem a little wet. My freezer temp is 0°. My arms on the ice maker are moving and dumping ice. There does always seem to be a build up of frozen ice at the back of the ice bin in both of the corners closest to the ice maker and causes the auger coil to scrap as it spins when trying to move ice to the front. There's also little dribbles of frozen ice that collects on the feeler arm. I've pulled out the fridge and the lines don't seem to be kinked in any way and my water dispenses just fine. Any suggestions please?
1 Answer Hello Will, The only thing that can cause hollow cubes is an insufficient water fill. You see, the cycling thermostat for the ice maker is in the front of the ice maker. If there isn't enough water filled into it, water doesn't get to the front cube. In other words, the thermostat is measuring ambient air temperature instead of the temperature of the water. This means that the thermostat will be satisfied before the water has time to freeze solid. When the harvest rake cycles, it cracks the partially frozen ice and the water pours back into the ice mold or spills out but the cubes are hollow because the water wasn't frozen all the way through when the cycle took place. I noticed that you said the water dispensed well out of the water dispenser so there probably isn't a water pressure issue. This points to one item only. You need a water inlet valve WR57X33326. Jp August 08, 2012 for Model Number PSH23pssasv Follow up to prev.icemaker problem: Installed new icemake, inlet valve and water filter. Ice is being dispensed into icemaker. Temperature setting is 0 degrees in freezer. Problem: very little ice is made and then it just melts. The problem is that it just keeps melting. water in flowing fine from door dispenser. Don't know what else to do. HELP!
1 Answer JP, You may want to check and make sure the refrigerator water supply line is attached to a cold water supply pipe. Make sure the dispenser ice chute flapper is closing and sealing to the dispenser body. At 0 dgrs.F. the ice maker should cycle and produce a batch of cubes approximately every 90 minutes, and the cubes should last a few days with little to no melting. You may want to recheck your installation, and make sure the "bail" arm is not "hanging up" or "sticking" on anything, this will disrupt the ice maker cycle as well. Check and make sure the evaporator fan motor is running properly and there is no air blockage around the ice maker. Read More...
Ben August 05, 2012 for Model Number GE: PSS25MGMBWW I have a PSS25MGMBWW refrigerator. The ice cubes in the collection bin freeze together in a lump. The auger motor and the solenoid that switches from cubed to crushed ice freeze up. There are frozen water droplets all over the upper part of the freezer and icicles form on the ice maker. On two occasions, the fan inside the freezer compartment started making noise. After completely defrosting the freezer compartment, everything works fine for 4 or 5 days, then everything starts to freeze up again. I've cleaned the condenser, replaced the defrost thermostat, and replaced most of the components in the ice door assembly. The door seal looks good. Suggestions? Thanks...
1 Answer Hello Ben. Check and see if the flapper inside the dispenser is closing all the way. If not, you may need to order and replace the solenoid assembly WR62X10055 on the unit. Read More...

Tony August 02, 2012 for Model Number hss25ifmd cc Thank you for the earlier answer on RO system issue that might be the cause of my ice maker freezing up. But, I wonder, if it is due to the heater malfunction? I have again unfrozen the ice cube module using hot water and emptied the ice tray. Over night tray filled nicely with ice and found ice formation in the ice maker module also! Is it a ice maker heater problem and hence,do I have to change the ice maker? Much appreciate your input
1 Answer Hello Tony. Yes, based on the information you provided, if the icemaker does not dump the ice after it is frozen, you will need to order and replace the icemaker WR30X10093. Read More...

John August 01, 2012 for Model Number gsh25kgpaww / ge side by side Opened freezer to find everything with a lite coating of ice on it. After a little investigation it seems like the ice maker is filling with water but not freezing and dripping into the bin and spilling into the the freezer. Do you have any suggestions before I spend $150.00 for a new ice maker? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello John, First check the water pressure to the unit. The unit could have been pushed back onto the water line, crimping the water pressure from the water inlet valve. The water pressure is the first thing I would look at because the water inlet valve is closed solely by water pressure. There is no spring inside it to help it close, the water pressure pushes the valve closed. So, if the water pressure is low or the line is crimped, the water valve will overfill the ice maker. If there is no crimps and the water pressure is good, the most obvious part to be questioned is the water inlet valve WR57X33326. Read More...
