Trying to remove the dispenser interface panel (part WR55X10785) from our GE Profile refrigerator. None of the videos we have watched online show our model. Most of them have frames around the panel. We have pushed and pulled in every direction. There are no screws to undo. We have studied the rear of the part from an online photo. We have applied pressure at the top and pulled out from the bottom. We have pushed up and down. We have tried inserting a screwdriver into the little slots at the bottom. We know if we keep applying more pressure, we're just going to crack something. Can you help?

Jim, To take off the dispenser interface you just need to grab it at the bottom and pull out. It should just release when you do this.

Hello Kinnal, This can be caused by a harness issue, a poor connection, (commonly located at the freezer door hinge), or a failing main board WR55X24347.

Hello Jack. Grasp the unit at the bottom of the interface and pull straight out. It will unsnap and remove from the unit so you can remove the housing.

Errol for Model Number PSS26PSTASS

No power to interface control assembly. All else on refrigerator is working fine. Power to board was intermittent at first. At times when a button was depressed on the control board, the selected light would just continuously give a faint blinking light and eventually goes blank. I checked the wiring beneath the freezer and as I moved it around, I would at times get power to the interface for a short period of time. I replaced the connectors and re-wired directly but the problem remains. Changed the interface board to a new one. Changed the main control board to a similar one from another working refrigerator with same result. Could the wiring from the main control board be defective and how can it be checked and replaced? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello Errol. Yes, it sounds like the wiring is the issue. GE does not offer the harness. You can replace the door to replace the wiring in it.

Hello John, This is more likely to be the main control board WR55X10942C but can be caused in remote cases by the user interface WR55X10298 if not caused by a wiring issue at the freezer door hinge.
