Tom D February 26, 2023 for Model Number gss25wstass My GE refrigerator only has the lights on and both the freezer and refrigerator side are warm. The touchpad is not lighting up or responding when pressed. Could it be the touchpad or something else. Thanks
1 Answer Tom D, Based on the model and information provided this could be a touchpad, display board, or main board. You will need to use a multimeter and the tech sheet to determine where you have power and where you are losing power. Read More...
Mike January 25, 2022 for Model Number GSS23WSTASS We had a power outage and when the power came back on the refrigerator did not work. Front dispenser made a clicking sound. I replaced the Main Control Board and now the refrigerator seems to work but the front display flashes 00 00 and does not respond to pressing any buttons. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Mike, likely the dispenser board was affected also by the power outage, it is part WR55X10859. Read More...
Jim January 24, 2021 for Model Number LGHC2342LF3 In door ice dispenser will not dispense ice. Ice maker is working. and dispenser will provide water.
1 Answer Jim, The most likely cause for this issue will be a faulty dispenser control board. Read More...
Ken November 11, 2020 for Model Number GSS23WGTJbb It seems every other day the Dispenser Assembly goes nuts. the temp displays will flashing intermittently, you will only be able to dispense water no ice and then after it sets for awhile all functions work. Is it the board?
1 Answer Ken, you may want to start by checking the ice chute flapper door to make sure it closes and seals properly, check the wiring harness at the bottom of the door and door hinge to make sure there aren't any damaged wires, etc. Then replace the WR55X10859 WR55X10859 INTERFACE DISPENSER ASM. if all's OK. Scott June 22, 2020 for Model Number GSS25LSWASS The door on my ice dispenser does not open. I thought it was the solenoid, so I replaced it but it does the exact same thing with the new solenoid. When the switch is pressed, the solenoid starts to fire, but it only drops a little then releases. If I unplug the solenoid from the interface board, the pins go to +12V as long as the switch is depressed and for a few seconds after. With the solenoid plugged in, the pins see a voltage momentarily and then it goes to 0V. Could it be the interface board?
1 Answer Scott, it would be recommended that the wires are tested for continuity while the refrigerator is unplugged to identify if there is a break that may be showing only during the wire being in a certain position. Moving the wire around while testing can identify this. If the wires to the solenoid both test fine, then it would be likely that the relay on the dispenser board WR55X10894 is unable to operate under load. Read More...
Paul April 14, 2020 for Model Number gfd28gmleees i have a French style door refrigerator the display board will go to water only but not to crush ice or cube ice , I try everything to get it to work any suggestions ty
Chris H December 09, 2019 for Model Number PSHF6RGXCDBB On my GE refrigerator, I can select water or ice fine. When attempting to dispense ice or water, sometimes the lights will flash briefly, there will be a humming sound, then it will stop attempting to dispense. Other times the ICE will dispense fine but the door that lets the ice out will not open. I have already replaced the solenoid and that did not resolve the problem. Does this sound like it's a problem with the interface dispenser ASM, or the control board?
1 Answer Chris, This issue does sound like the issue will most likely be with the dispenser interface on this unit. Read More...
Jeff June 22, 2019 for Model Number GSS25QSTASS The bulb in the dispenser glows very dim (only filament glows slightly) when the light control button is pressed in the panel. Thinking there was a problem with the socket, I replaced the socket with a new one I just purchased from you, however the same problem is happening. I tested the bulb in a nightlight and it works fine. The bulb is the correct one for the unit. It's almost as if not enough energy is getting to the socket to fully illuminate the bulb? I have removed the existing panel and tested all the connections. Problem persists. Could there be a problem with the panel itself requiring an entirely new control board? Could it be the wiring from one of the three wire connections, and, if so can I only buy the new wiring rather than having to buy the entire panel for $140? Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
1 Answer Jeff, you will want to remove the ice bin and then set the dispenser for ice. From there you will want to gain access to the wire connection to the bulb socket and test for 12VDC from the red wire with the red probe to the yellow wire with the black probe of a multimeter TJMA-DMT3 while the dispenser paddle is engaged. If there is not around 12VDC, then the display would need to be tested at the same wires directly connected to the display. If 12VDC is not being sent by the display WR55X10859, the display would need to be changed out. If the display is sending the voltage, then the most likely failure would be the dispenser switch WR23X10783 not properly engaging to send voltage to the bulb. Read More...

Bud P May 06, 2018 for Model Number GSS23QGTAWW The water dispenser wasn't working but the ice dispenser was, so I took a hair dryer and defrosted the water line and now the water dispenser works. Problem is it won't turn off unless I turn the water off. Unplugging doesn't stop the flow, only turning the water off. So is it a control assembly problem or a valve problem?
1 Answer Bud, For this issue the most likely cause would be that the water valve is not shutting off and would need to be replaced. Read More...
