M.A. January 12, 2013 for Model Number GE WASHER whdsr417d0ww Hello, My washing machine fills and cycles normally, the only problem is that if I open the lid during the agitating cycle and close it back up the cycle stops completely. It will not continue agitating, even if I try to turn on and off the machine itself, it still will not continue the agitate portion of cycle. I have to drain & spin and re-fill with water to restart agitate portion of cycle. I even tried switching settings and no luck. Do you think this problem could be due to a bad the lid switch? 1 Answer Hello Chris. Yes, you will check the micro-switch for continuity. It should read closed when the lid switch is pressed down like the lid is closed.
