The Drain Pump is an OEM part for GE washing machines. It is essential for expelling used water from the washer during and after the wash cycle. This pump ensures that water flows efficiently out of the machine, preventing standing water which can lead to issues like mold and unpleasant odors.

Causes of a bad Drain Pump can include clogging from small garments or debris, motor failure, or damage to the pump impeller.

Symptoms of a bad Drain Pump include:

  • Water not draining out of the washing machine,
  • Unusual noises coming from the pump area during the drain phase,
  • The washer stopping mid-cycle.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
