Precious January 26, 2019 for Model Number GTDP280ED4WW I replaced the timer and the power switch on my GE dryer but it still doesn't start. The starter was burnt out and the timer knob had previously broken. Any idea what could be the problem now? I order both new parts from this site.
1 Answer Precious, For the unit to run the belt has to be in good shape and not broke, there is a belt switch on this unit. Also, there is a high limit and a thermostat on the heater housing that has to read closed on a continuity test and the door switch is the only things that will stop the unit from running. Sunil July 16, 2018 for Model Number DPVH880GJ2MG I have a GE dryer Model DPVH880GJ2MG. When I press the start butting, I here click sound but drum won't rotate. But when I give a little push on the drum, it works. Also removed the drum and started the unit, motor was spinning. Thanks

Mary May 15, 2015 for Model Number hydx100em1ww My dryer timer knob cylinder broke and have used pliers to turn it the last few times to turn the timer and cut it on with no problems. This last time the push button worked and turned the dryer on but it immediately stopped when released, it did that each time I pressed it for three times and now does not work at all. I have tried moving the timer knob to different locations and tried each location with no success. I am replacing the timer knob and insert but wondering if now the switch is not bad as well?
