John July 23, 2013 for Model Number JSP40 My GE Profile electric range/oven started beeping the code F-2 and F-3. I believe this code is for the oven temp sensor so I want to get a new one. I don't see a model JSP40 listed so I need to know which sensor to order and what else I might check. Thanks John
Gus June 17, 2013 for Model Number jbp25d0k2ct Willl part number wb23x5340 upper senor fit my oven? I replaced the boiler element already.
1 Answer Gus, according to your model number you'll use sensor assembly part number WB21X22134. Thanks. Read More...
Mary June 05, 2013 for Model Number GE Range & Oven JBP65B0K2BB My broil element burned. I ordered a replacement WB44T10009. I have received and it appears to be the correct replacement. When the burned one was removed from the rear opening where the wire comes out there is another part coming out of that same area. In looking at parts on-line it looks like the sensor and it has a bracket also. Not sure how that senor bracket is screwed on. Looked at other people's question and saw one similar to my issue. Their question was can sensor bracket be screwed back in behind broil element bracket using same 2 screws? I viewed video for replacing sensor and the oven used for illustration shows sensor bracket screwed into back of oven separate from element. My oven has coming out of same opening as the broiler element inside the oven on the back wall. How is that part/bracket to be screwed back on?
1 Answer Mary, One screw for the element can be put in the hold the oven sensor in place. Read More...
John C June 02, 2013 for Model Number GE Spectra The oven takes a long time to come on and then the temp drops after it reaches the right temp. It will fluctuate as we cook.
1 Answer John, You will need to test the oven sensor for resistance. The resistance of the oven sensor should be approximately 1090 ohms. If the sensor checks ok then the control board would be the cause of failure. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Deanna T. April 29, 2013 for Model Number RB757BCCT My oven preheat beeps before the oven actually reaches the desired temperature. The oven reaches the desired temperate well after the preheat signals. Is the Sensor Kit the appliance part I need?
1 Answer Hello Deanna T. Measure sensor circuit resistance at sensor / lock switch connector (should be 1100 ohms at room temperature). Ensure each sensor lead to chassis ground resistance is infinitely high. Read More...
Ken February 27, 2013 for Model Number JBP76GS1 I had to replace my bake element and control board when they burned out. The original control board part WB27X5579 is no longer available so I used the recommended replacement part WB27X10311. Now I get the F4 error code. I believe that the origianl15 Ohm oven sensor needs replacing with an 1100 Ohm oven sensor to work with the newer board but I don't know which one to order.
John January 15, 2013 for Model Number GE COMBINATION ELECTRIC WALL OVEN & MICROWAVE BOTH THE BAKE AND THE BROIL ELEMENTS ARE NOT WORKING. THE CONTROL PANEL WORKS FINE FOR BOTH. I TOOK OUT THE ELEMENTS AND TESTED THE VOLTAGE. I ONLY READ 120V ON ONE LEAD WITH A VOLTMETER WHEN THE UNIT WAS TURNED ON. THIS OCCURRED ON BOTH THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENTS. THE HOUSE CIRCUIT 240V BREAKER WORKS FINE, 120V ON EACH LEG. WOULD A DEFECTIVE TEMPERATURE SENSOR CAUSE THIS?
1 Answer Hello John, You would want to check at the control board and make sure that you are getting 240 vac from bake to L1 and broil to L1. The sensor would not cause this issue. Read More...
Diana B. January 05, 2013 for Model Number JTP45W0W1WW I have a GE double wall oven. It bakes ok, but when I try to run the self clean cycle in the top oven, I get an F-3 error code. I usually have to turn off the power to get it to shut down and let it cool. Would it be the sensor that is bad? and the number on the sensor isn't the same description when I pull up a part photo.
1 Answer Hello Diana, F-3 is a shorted or open sensor. This can also be the result of contamination on terminals, a pinched wire in the sensor circuit, or a cold solder joint on the control board. To test the sensor, using an ohm meter the sensor should read about 1100O at about 70°F. Be sure to tap on the sensor while testing in case of an intermittant sensor. The part number shown for this model by GE is WB23T10015. Read More...
Poppa December 10, 2012 Oven turns on and oven temp reaches 100 and does not go any higher could this be the problem. Replaced the ecr panel bottom oven works fine.thanks
1 Answer Hello Poppa, It sounds like the bake element is not coming on to allow temp to rise above 100 degrees. You would want to check the bake element and limiters or thermostats associated with bake element for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Robert C. December 03, 2012 for Model Number GE Profile Spectra 30" Free Standing JB965SC1SS My problem is the convection baking temp control works fine but, the bake mode temp is low by 50 degrees. Is it the control board ? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Robert, You would want to check the temperature sensor WB23X5340 to see what it ohms out at. It should ohm out at about 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the oven sensor checks ok then you would want to replace the control board WB27T10246. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
