Brian W October 30, 2012 for Model Number J BP24BOH2WH After turning oven on, start to get a F-2 Error code and beeping noise? What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Brian, An F2 Error code indicates that the control senses oven temp above 615 degrees. There are 2 things that you want to check. If the oven had been on for a while then you would want to check your relay contacts for the back or broil elements. If you find this then you need to replace Oven control WB27X45466. If you are just starting unit and it flashes F2 error code then you want to check sensor. Using multi-meter ohm out the oven sensor WB21X22134. You should get 1100 ohms room temp. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Lorenzo T October 29, 2012 for Model Number J2B900SEF2SS Hi I have A gas Range and when I try to do something in the oven it works for a 15 to 20 minutes and stops and starts to beep and (FO) code appears so what does that mean. Thanks guys.
1 Answer Hi Lorenzo, it usually means that either the touch pad WB57K10080 or the oven control WB27T10424 (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. Read More...
Geoff October 21, 2012 for Model Number JTP55WOV2WW Does this temp sensor work for GE Profile double oven Model JTP55W0V2WW? Do I use the 1 sensor for the top and another for the lower oven?
1 Answer Hello Geoff! Yes, the sensor WB23X5340 is the correct replacement listed for your model. You will need one for the upper oven and one for the lower oven. Thanks! Read More...
Debbie July 08, 2012 for Model Number J P30BOB4D When the oven is on,it has a button that shows the "oven on" button is on and sometimes, the "preheated button is on". The oven may initially heat up and then drop the temperature. It has to be turned off and then back on 2-3 times, before the oven will come on. Trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to get a new oven or fix this one. It is 12 years old.
1 Answer Hello Debbie. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostat is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Barry April 05, 2012 for Model Number JBP66WOB4WW If I set the temperature to a certain temperature the oven never reaches the desired temperature. The temperature preheat light comes on even though it's not fully heated.
1 Answer Hello Barry, The first thing to do is turn the breaker off and then back on. If this produces no results, I would check the bake element WB44T10011. It should read between 35 to 70 ohms of resistance. If this teats good, the next part will be the clock Assembly WB27T10230. Read More...
Gary C March 22, 2012 for Model Number JTP15WW 2WW, installed in 1998. I get F3 error code when baking, even with the cooling fan running. I checked resistance at the terminal block on tabs 4 and 6 and got a high reading, about 1700 ohms. I now suspect the oven temperature sensor. Is that the culprit? Part no. AP2023862
1 Answer Hello Gary. Based on the information you provided, you will need to test the sensor. It should read 1100 ohms at room temperature and 1650 ohms at 350°. If it is off, and is reading 1700 ohms at room temp, you will need to replace the sensor WB23X5340. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Melanie March 18, 2012 for Model Number RB787wc4ww How can I tell whether I need this part or a baking element? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Melanie. You can test the sensor WB23X5340. It should read around 15 ohms at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Hello Rick. This senses the temperature and sends the reading to the main control, which in turn controls the temperature. Have a great day! Read More...
1 Answer Hello Anthony. The sensor WB23X5340 is located inside the oven on the back wall. It is usually in the corner by the broil element. Hope this helps. Read More...
