For Ge Cooktop Spark Module (Part Number: OEM21648372)

Hello Heather, If the unit is making a clicking sound you will have a bad ignitor or ignitor wire WB18X24485, or you have lost ground the burner base. If it is not making the clicking sound, you will have a bad start switch WB18X20259.

Bl, This switch harness WB18T10339 is showing as being the correct harness for your unit. If you replaced the spark module and the spark switches you will want to check the incoming power to the unit as this will be the most likely issue.

Gerald, In most cases the spark module would not cause the igniters to spark on their own. You will want to check the spark switches for continuity in the off position and if there is continuity then the switch is bad.

The right rear burner will not spark when the knob is turned. It does spark when I turn the other knobs (to light the other burners). Also, the light at the knob for the right rear burner lights up when any of the other burners are turned on. The ignitor does spark when I turn the other knobs but does not spark when I turn it's knob. I've replaced the ignitor and the wiring harness. No change. What are the chances it is the ignition module? Is it more likely the wire that runs from the ignition module to the burner since all the other burners are working? Or is it something at the knob? Thanks.

Bob, You will want to pull the burner head and the burner cap and make sure that they are throughly cleaned. Also make sure that the burner can be lit with a match. If it can be and it is sparking then dirty burner will cause this. If it will not then check the orifice to make sure that it is clean and make sure that there is gas coming through the valve.

Brett for Model Number jgbs80dem1ww

I ordered the replacement spark module (part # AP3778816) for my stove (jgbs80dem1ww) and its different from the original. Everything I've read so far indicates the new part is compatible with the stove, but I'm unsure as to which "spark wire" goes where. The wires going to each burner on the stove are different colors. There's also no clear indication as to where the ground wire is supposed to go. While a picture of the wire placement was included with the instructions, the quality is so poor it's unusable. Is there a clear wire diagram available and where does the ground wire from the stove go? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Brett, As per the original wiring diagram on the units' tech sheet shows, the yellow will go to the right front, black to the right rear, red to the left front, blue to the left rear and white to the center burner.

Tim, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not list the wires that go from the spark module to the igniters as being a part that is available.

I have one burner ( back right) that will not light. It will with a lighter so we have gas supply. the electronic igniter try's to spark but very intermittent. upon removal of burner I can see the spark is going out the bottom of the wire coming to the igniter and sparking on the bottom of the chassis I swapped the igniters around and it works in other location (back left) but same action on the back right burner. is this the spark module / or wire harness. I taped the wire and no bare spots in it and it still jumps to the chassis. Please advise... thanks
