Questions & Answers

For Ge Range 8-Inch Surface Element (Part Number: OEM7904358)

Frank

I purchased a replacement 8" burner for GE stove JB5000W1AD. It does not exactly precisely fit into the receptacle, comes up a smidge short in length, and also the lead ends of the coils are much flatter crimped, while the OE burner lead ends have a wide tip, making good positive contact. The replacement burner works OK, just have to move burner as far as possible into receptacle to assure contact. Is there a tip I can add on or crimp on to burner leads, to make them a bit longer, but especially a bit wider/fatter, to assure contact is positive all of the time? FRANK

Frank, We are showing 2 different elements for the 8" on this unit. The one for the left rear would be part number WB30X219 and if you needed the right front it would be part number WB30X346. The 6" for the left front and right rear is part number WB30X218.

Larry, for safety reasons you would need to re-wire the unit to properly convert it over to a standard 8" coil element. This includes replacing the switch, wires and receptacle. Due to liability reasons we are unable to provide you with any instructions to covert the unit, thanks!

Veronica, Make sure that there is not a screw holding this one in place but if that is not the case then you just pull it straight out. It could be stuck and may just need to pull a little harder.
