Causes of a bad Temperature Sensor can include exposure to extreme temperatures leading to sensor failure, physical damage, or wear and tear over time that affects its accuracy.

Symptoms of a bad Temperature Sensor include:

  • The oven not reaching the set temperature or displaying an error code related to temperature regulation.
  • Unpredictable oven temperatures, leading to inconsistent cooking results.
  • The oven taking longer than usual to preheat, or not heating at all, indicating that the sensor is not properly gauging and adjusting the temperature.

Hello Gil, This can be caused by a loose connection from the power supply from the home to the oven. Check the terminal block where the cord connects to the unit for loose connections and check for burned spots on the prongs of the cord that plug into the receptacle. This would indicate a loose wall outlet and the outlet and power cord would need to be replaced. If these connections have been checked and no problems were located, you will most likely have a failing relay on the control board WB27K10354.

Hello Paul, The temperature sensor WB20K10027 should read about 1100 ohms at about 70°F. You should thump it while testing to ensure no intermittent connection is present. If the reading is more than 10% out of tolerance, it should be replaced. If it reads correctly the same reading should be taken at the control where the harness connects to the control board. If this reading is good and the ignitor WB13K10043 glows yellow to white hot, the board WB27K10434 should be replaced. As a note, the ignitor should also not have a white spot on it. This would indicate a failed ignitor.
