Dishwasher won't fill. Checked for water pressure and debris in overflow float, both OK. Tested the water control valve for continuity across its terminals OK Replaced water control valve, no difference. Replaced the overflow switch, no difference. Checked for power to the water control valve connection. NO POWER to the connector. Checked continuity from the timer plug to the water control valve connecter, good continuity so not a broken wire. Pump runs so there's power to the timer. Do you think there's a problem on the timer not sending current to the valve?

1 Answer

Jerry, If all other check looked good and when testing for power to the valve there was none and the wiring is good then the timer WD21X33639 would be the issue.

Joe, You will want to check to see if the timer is sending power to the other components but would most likely be the issue.

Sometimes my GE Nautilus dish washer works fine. Other times, when the switch is turned to start, you can hear the water come on and fill but then nothing happens, but you can hear the timer continue to click. When this happened the other night, I moved the timer to where I thought it would drain so I could start over, but it just hummed. I tried to start over anyway and the water over flowed. Bailed out the water, took the basket off the drain exit and found a couple small pieces of debris, nothing major. Moved switch to a drain position and it worked. I started the cycle over, it filled with water and stopped. Moved switch, drained the water out, started over and the machine is now running through full cycle--once it starts "normally", it runs through the whole cycle with no problem. My question is: is the timer faulty?
