  • Advances the cycle and routes power to pumps, valves, and heater at the correct times
  • Can cause cycles to run unusually long/short or skip steps when failing
  • Intermittent start/stop behavior during a cycle can also indicate a worn timer
What's included: 1 dishwasher timer assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Access the control console; document wire locations and transfer one lead at a time to the new timer
  • Mount securely and route wires clear of sharp edges or moving parts

For Ge Timer (Dishwasher) (Part Number: OEM21648930)

Leo for Model Number GE Dishwasher GSD2200G02CC

My dishwasher drains while it is filling, the solenoid does open and close for the drain. I figured it was the timer so I purchased a new one and I have the same problem. I did manually move the solenoid to close off the flapper and the water sprays normally, there is enough pressure that sprays the dishes when it is manually by passed. The solenoid does electrically move up and down, but I was wondering if it possible over heats and releases? Could it be the solenoid for the drain or an obstruction somewhere? It has been working fine and within the past 2 weeks it started this. NOTE: Manually moving the timer to each of the positions the water does turn on but then drains while filling. During the wash cycle the pump runs but no water in the bottom. Thanks in Advance for any assistance.

Hello Leo. It sounds like the solenoid is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Debbie, With the unit draining and filling at the same time, this would be the timer causing this issue. If the solenoid is not seating fully then you would also need a new solenoid.

Hello Mark, If you have already checked the power connection behind the kick panel and there were no burned or discolored wire nuts and the wires were tight in them, the next suspect would be the door switch and switch activation mechanism. If I remember correctly, this model has a flat metal piece referred to as a "leaf" that may not be activating the switch. If the unit isn't secured under the counter or leveled so the door strikes properly, this can have a major impact on the door switch activation. Also, while inside the door panel, note as to whether or not there is moisture present. If there is, the switch and/or timer may have problems. As a general rule, check for voltage into a component and voltage back out of the component. When you find a component that the voltage goes into and not back out of, you have located the faulty component.

Rebecca, You'll need to check and repair the wiring harness at the bottom of the door. On older units after years of openings and closings of the door the wires have a tendency to separate inside the insulation, when the door reaches a certian position the wires separate and the unit stops, when the door reaches the previous position the wires touch and the unit operates. Just remember to remove power to the dishwasher, before you start checking the wire harness.

Hello, The cam is not designed to be removed from the timer. As far as I know, there are no instructions for this because it is not a normal procedure.

Archie, The timer advancing isn't really the issue. If your drain solenoid is burning up, thats going to be due to a wiring issue(pinched or shorted wire), timer contact issue, supplying power to the solenoid, or the wrong solenoid is installed. If you installed WD21X802 then go with the timer WD21X33639 as long as the wiring checks OK. Good Luck and Thanks

John, Have you checked the wiring harness in the door to the motor, especially at the bottom of the door, The wires do have a tendency to separate in that area, from the opening and closing of the door. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi John. The timer will then send the command (voltage) To the motor to run. The door switches are OK since you had the door closed in order for the water to fill. The timer is part # WD21X33639. Thank you.
