Andy for Model Number GSD2200G00CC Sometimes my GE Nautilus dish washer works fine. Other times, when the switch is turned to start, you can hear the water come on and fill but then nothing happens, but you can hear the timer continue to click. When this happened the other night, I moved the timer to where I thought it would drain so I could start over, but it just hummed. I tried to start over anyway and the water over flowed. Bailed out the water, took the basket off the drain exit and found a couple small pieces of debris, nothing major. Moved switch to a drain position and it worked. I started the cycle over, it filled with water and stopped. Moved switch, drained the water out, started over and the machine is now running through full cycle--once it starts "normally", it runs through the whole cycle with no problem. My question is: is the timer faulty?
Answer Hello Andy. You need to check and see if there is power to the motor. If not, then the timer is bad. If there is power down there and nothing is unplugged, you will need to replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
