The Timer is an OEM replacement part for GE washers. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences.

Causes may involve minor power surges exposing delicate components to uncontrolled fluctuations overtime. General wear from years of activating various thermal, agitation and spin functions can degrade sensitive electronics as well.

Symptoms of a bad timer include:

  • Erratic or inaccurate countdown between cycles
  • Failure to switch automatically between rinse and spin
  • Locked buttons or controls suggesting circuit board issues
  • Inability to modify or set desired cycles and options

This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore model washing machines.

Hello Bill. Pull out on the knob. On the back of the knob, there is a small plastic clip. You will need to use a pick tool or an ice pick and pull the clip from the knob. Once you pull out the clip, the knob pulls off the timer WH12X10338 shaft.

Courtney for Model Number 110.22832100 Sears Kenmore GE

My Kenmore/GE top load washer will fill and agitate/wash the entire cycle but when it comes to the rinse cycle it just stops. We have checked the drains and everything is clear. There are no belts on this washer, so that can’t be it. We have tried other wash settings and the same thing happens when it gets to the rinse cycle. I have also checked the lid to make sure that the lid switch is clicking and securely closing and it seems like it is. Could this be the timer?

Hello Courtney, This sounds to me as though the cold water valve 285805 has failed, unless the cold water got turned off without your knowledge. If you change the water valve, be sure to unplug the unit and turn off hot and cold water before removing the hoses.

Danny, You don't really have a timer, you have an electronic control boardWH12X10468 and you should eliminate other possible causes, before you replace it. It could be as simple as a loose connection at the board or water level switch. The information we sent you, should be a big help, and get you up and going. Thanks and Good Luck
