Ray April 20, 2016 I have a GE top loading washer. I had the lid open and was filling the washer, water was pouring out of the bottom and the water level in the tub did not stop at the appropriate level, it just kept filling up. Water does not leak during spin or drain cycle, could this be the water level switch?
1 Answer Ray, You will want to open the washer and check the pressure hose to make sure that it did not pop off the side of the tub. Also check to make sure that the air dome and hose is not clogged with debris which would cause the overfilling and if the hose has popped off would cause the leaking issue. Read More...
Hal January 03, 2016 for Model Number WCSR2090G3WW My washing machine overflows on all settings doesn't agitate or spin but does drain the water. What could be causing the problem?
1 Answer Hello Hal. Check and see if the air dome is clogged on the unit. If the air dome is clear, check the pressure hose on the unit. Make sure the hose and the pressure switch is good. Read More...
Cliff November 29, 2015 When I start my washing machine, it stops filling after a couple of seconds I have to keep pushing the start button and sometime I have to hold the start button in until it does start. It will stop filling before the desired level. When it first happened it only happened on small and medium loads but now I have to continue to push the start button to get it to continue on the large load.
1 Answer Cliff, To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Joe August 10, 2015 for Model Number Samsung front loading washer The washer had flooded our laundry room. The water kept pouring out of the washer with the door open. Is it normal for the door to open if water has accumulated inside? I pulled off plug and it kept spewing out water. I turned off water main to make it stop. I turned water main back on and water did not resume at washer. Would this be a inlet valve problem or water level?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Yes, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...
Ken June 06, 2015 for Model Number WjSR2080T Some time ago my environmentally concerned wife brought home a couple of those cloth bags that you're suppose to take to the supermarket. Those bags are used instead the plastic ones provided at the market. Anyway, one day my wife decided the cloth bags needed washing. I questioned if they were washable as they had "stiff" bottoms. She assured me they were and I put them in our GE washer on "Gentle" cycle. Part way through the cycle the agitator quit, just a groaning noise coming from underneath the machine. The bottoms of the bags were wrapped up under the agitator. The regular cycle works just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks
1 Answer Ken, With the unit working on regular cycle but not on gentle then it sounds like the winding of the motor has been damaged on the low setting. This would require the motor of the unit to be replaced. Read More...
Ken June 06, 2015 for Model Number GE Model WJSR2080T Washer Regarding the fill level control (part # AP2045895); on my machine it's the low level position that's giving me problems. If I get the knob in the "just the right" position the water will flow for the rinse cycle, otherwise the rinse cycle is dry. the problem is that the "just right" position seems to vary from load to load. Is this an indicator that the control is faulty, or something else? thanks
1 Answer Ken, This issue would most likely be caused by a pressure switch that is faulty. The pressure switch part number for your unit is WH12X10065. Read More...
Richard O February 01, 2015 for Model Number WNSR2100T2AA Watched video and saw that this repair would fix water level problems. ordered part AP2045895 (water level switch) and installed per video. Everything went smooth. Problem is water still leaks onto floor whenever water level selector is switched to super loads. Clothes washer works fine on small and large loads but leaks all over floor on super loads. Whats next?
1 Answer Richard, The most likely cause is either the screens on the fill valve are clogged and causing the water valve to not close all the way off or the water valve is faulty and allowing water to come into the unit creating the water to be too high of a fill which would be more noticeable on the super load. The water valve is WH13X10024. Read More...
Joe January 22, 2015 for Model Number WJSR2080T5WW When starting the washer it just starts to agitate without putting any water in. Could this be the water level switch?
1 Answer Joe, Yes It could be the WH12X10065 water level switch or the WH41X365 air tube. Here's a way to check, remove power to the washer access the controls inside the console, disconnect the air hose from the water level switch, wait a few seconds then start the washer. If the washer starts to fill, replace the water level switch and tube. If the washer agitates and doesn't fill replace the timer WH12X1022 one of the timer contacts is stuck closed. Read More...
Tiffanny January 16, 2015 for Model Number frigidaire fex831fs1 Our machine will fill with water to selected level and then stop. It will not advance at all. It will not agitate. Can manually move to final spin and it will progress through the spin cycle fine and drain fine. Would this be a water level or pressure switch?
1 Answer Tiffany, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty pressure switch that is reading full but not allowing the unit to advance to agitate. Read More...
Kevinrusnak@Comporium.Net January 11, 2015 for Model Number GE Profile "Energy Star" model WPRE8150K2WT Greetings: I have a GE Profile "Energy Star" model WPRE8150K2WT that will not put enough water in to fully cover clothes. This is the way it has allways been since new. I know these new machines are made this way, but the wife has to add water to cover clothes. QUESTION: how do you adjust the water level switch screw to increase the water level a few inches or more? (clockwise or counter-clockwise to increase)? Thanks in advance for your advise!
1 Answer Kevinrusnak, Unfortunately there is no way to adjust the water level to the unit as this is preset by the factory and would have to be calibrated to change the water level settings. Read More...
