Is it necessary to do the software update after replacing the compressor? If not done, what will happen? The fridge is at the right temperature now. But it's not producing ice. So we're wondering if it's because of the upgrade not done.

Joe June 01, 2022 My Kenmore Elite refrigerator went out and its 6 years old so I called Sears and they sent one of their techs out and he said it was the compressor and its under warranty. He said he ordered all the parts he needs to replace it. All that came is was a compressor, filter dryer, and a service valve. So i'm reading all the questions and they all say if the compressor is replaced i need to update software but he didn't order that. Does the tech have that with him or will I have to wait for them to order that to.

Steve May 20, 2022 for Model Number 795.73153.610 2017 Kenmore Elite refrigerator and the compressor went bad (i know, shocking!). It is being replaced by Sears under warranty. I didn't check the part number in the existing compressor, but i am assuming I have the TCA36511303 compressor, and I am assuming they are going to replace it with a TCA38151706, Do you know if the TCA381 is prone to the same failures as the TCA 365 model.
