The Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component is crucial for detecting and monitoring various conditions within the washing machine, such as water level, temperature, and load balance. It ensures the machine operates efficiently and effectively by providing accurate data to the control board.

Causes of a bad sensor assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, exposure to water and detergents, electrical malfunctions, or damage from impact. A faulty sensor assembly can lead to incorrect readings, which can affect the washing machine’s performance and lead to issues such as improper water levels or unbalanced loads.

Symptoms of a bad Sensor Assembly include:

  • Incorrect water levels during cycles
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle or not completing cycles
  • Error codes related to water level or load balance
  • The machine failing to start or operate correctly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Lg Tromm-2005 for Model Number LG WM2277HW 2005 model

At wash cycle start, the tub begins filling with water. After @ 2 minutes, it attempts to turn the tub one way, then the other. As it is trying to turn, it moves a degree or two and stops as if it has met resistance. After a minute or two of this it stops and error message LE is displayed. Note-the tub does turn easily by hand, either direction. I doubt this has any bearing, but the unit makes a noise as it is attempting to turn CCW. The noise most resembles the sound of a copper water pipe system just barely turned on-like water flowing. It makes little noise as it attempts to turn CW. I've unplugged the unit and left it unplugged for 2-3 minutes and turned the tub 3-4 revolutions in each direction, with no perceivable difference in effort. This seemingly began with no warning. I am about to pull the unit away from wall and pull back off to try and shed more light on situation as I'm guessing the issue may be related to the motor or its components. Thanks for your help!

LG Tromm-2005, The LE indicates a locked motor error. You will want to check the following. • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. • The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective.

Jonathan, The LE error code is representative of a Locked motor error. In most cases it is the rotor position sensor that causes the LE error code but if you check the following it will narrow it down. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (opencircuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective.

Ron, You will want to access the tech sheet and run a diagnostic cycle to see if there are any stored error codes. This issue could be caused by a door lock issue in which the door lock is not sensing that it is locked in order to put the unit into a full spin. For the noise issue you will want to check to make sure that there is nothing in the pump that is causing the noise.

Hello Mark. The RPS sensor is not hard to replace. Just remove the rotor and stator from the outer tub and remove the sensor from the stator. Insatll the new sensor 6501KW2002B on the stator.

Brian for Model Number LG WM2277HW

I am getting the LE error code. I tried all the troubleshooting options so it looks like I will purchase this part and try to replace myself. The technician that looked at it said I need to replace the entire rotor assembly as well. Is he pulling my leg? Did the rotor assembly have anything to do with LE error code? He said because I need to replace the rotor as well as the sensor and the "electrical wiring" involved he wants to charge me $550 parts and labor. Am i getting ripped off? Should I attempt to replace sensor on my own first?

Brian, While it is a possibility that the rotor could be damaged and causing the sensor to go out, in most cases it is just a failed sensor.

Marc, You will want to check the drain pump to make sure that it is not clogged and check the pressure hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged. This can cause the unit to not go into the spin cycle. With a model number we may be able to provide more information on what to check. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx

Hello Bob, This is a locked rotor error. This basically means that the control is not seeing the motors' rotation. The first thing to do is check all of the electrical connections by unplugging each one and reconnecting them, you should do this one at a time to avoid confusion and/or cross wiring the unit. If this produces no satisfactory results, the issue is either going to be a bad hall sensor or a bad control. The service manual says this about the fault code: • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY.

Jerry, The LE error code indicates a a locked motor error. The error would most likely be caused by a bad stator assembly and this is what you would want to replace 4417FA1994G.
