The Freezer Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This sensor monitors the temperature within the freezer compartment, sending readings to the refrigerator’s control board to maintain optimal temperature levels. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that the freezer operates efficiently and keeps food items properly frozen.

Over time, the temperature sensor can fail due to regular wear and tear, electrical issues, or exposure to extreme temperatures. A faulty sensor can lead to inaccurate temperature readings, affecting the freezer's performance.

Symptoms of a bad freezer temperature sensor include:

  • Inconsistent freezer temperatures
  • The freezer running continuously or not running at all
  • Frost buildup in the freezer compartment
  • The control board displaying error codes related to temperature

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

For Lg Freezer Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM13326171)

Hello Dan, You may need to adjust the temperature setting in the fresh food compartment to a COLDER setting. This corrects the issue because if the unit sits without running for too long the cold air will settle to the bottom of the unit. Having the unit call for temperature more often causes the fans to kick on and stir the air, mixing it so the bottom of the unit equalizes with the temperature of the top. If it is still too cold you may need to also turn the freezer temperature to a warmer setting. This should be done and allow the unit to run at these new settings for a couple of days before attempting a repair. This is a common complaint and this corrects more than 90% of them.

Monte for Model Number LSC26905tt

My LG frig has an issue for which i have tried replacing the main board 2x in the last 2 weeks without success. The freezer and frig settings does not stay where i set it,3 to 5 minuets after i set it, it will change the setting to: no lights displayed for the frig and setting # 2and #4 for the freezer. the settings control then becomes inoperable, I then must unplug the frig to get the control settings to function again and then it repeats the malfunction again.the unit cools but the controls are operating too high, so i must unplug the frig over night to avoid freezing. I have now tried to get an answer to this issue since monday and have not received a replay, thanks

Monte, The freezer control showing a 1 and 4 light showing up will indicate abnormal freezing motor. This means that the motor is defective or the wiring to the motor is defective. The part number for the motor is 4681JB1029A.

Larry, You will want to check the fan in the freezer to make sure that it is coming on. Also check the evaporator coils in the freezer to ensure that they are not impacted with ice. If they are then the issue will most likely be the defrost sensor that has failed.

Hello Mary. It sounds like the damper is bad. If so, the part needed, MCZ54121501 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. You can test the sensor and see if it is good. Also, check the damper door and see if it is broken and is not closing. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

G6531, This issue would be caused by a faulty main control board. The light staying on is what is causing the higher temps and it is a relay on the board that has failed which would cause this. The part number for the control board is 6871JK1011G.

Hello Freddy, This sounds like it could be a possible sealed system restriction or possibly a Freon loss. You will need to remove the evaporator cover and inspect the frost pattern to determine the issue. If there is an ice ball where the Freon lines enter the freezer compartment, it is a Freon loss causing the issue and the leak will have to be located and sealed before Freon is re-introduced into the unit. If there is just frost in the center or other area of the evaporator coils or even frost building up on a Freon line behind the unit, the issue will be a sealed system restriction. Either case requires a Freon certified technician to complete the repair since Federal law requires it.

Frustrated customer, The FF on the display is an error code for the freezer fan not running. You will want to check at the control board to make sure that there is power being sent to the fan. You will want to unplug the unit for a minute to allow it to reset then plug back in and test for 12 vdc to the evaporator fan. If there is power then the fan is either blocked by ice or the motor has failed. If there is no power then the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced.
