S.E. June 16, 2018 for Model Number Model #79577553600 Kenmore Elite Replaced the light sockets and housing in my Kenmore Elite refrigerator. Used the new part with the ground and the additional safety sensor. The prior unit had over heated and melted the plastic housing so I understand the substitution with the ground etc! Now that all is installed- light still does not come on. What should I try next? Thanks for your help!!
1 Answer S.E, While replacing the light socket and housing will help you would also need to replace the main control board for this issue as it is the cause for the lights staying on anyway. Read More...
Karl May 12, 2018 for Model Number LFD22860TT Hi there. I have a bulb that will not turn on when the refrigerator doors are open. I have changed the bulb several times with new bulbs to no avail. Would this be the thing to change out or would it be another part?
1 Answer Karl, For this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty main control board which will be part number 6871JK1011G. Read More...
Bill L July 17, 2017 for Model Number 6621JK2002D I need to replace the light socket in my fridge and your website keeps telling me this is the right part but part I removed does not have the little round silver ground nor does it have the other green wire. How do I get part 6621jk2002d?
1 Answer Bill, This will be the correct part and the round disc will just need to be screwed to the metal housing and then also would need to attach the ground to that. Read More...
John G October 29, 2016 for Model Number LG LFC25760TT My refrigerator light won't turn off (which has happened twice before and melted the light cover, etc). Is the problem with the light assembly or the control board? What is the replacement board part number if that's the problem? Thanks
Trevor W October 07, 2015 for Model Number lg LRBN22514ST Hey guys, The lights on my fridge don't turn on when I open the fridge. I replaced the lights and they still don't work. When I push the switch the fridge and freezer temp control light comes on so I don't think it is a switch issue. Anyone else have this problem in the past? I'm hoping it can be fixed by just buying a new light assembly? Thanks.
1 Answer Trevor, In most cases this issue will not be a bad light assembly. You will want to pull the assembly down and see if there is 120 vac getting to it. In most cases the issue with this will be caused by a faulty control board. If there is power to the light assembly and not coming on then the light assembly will be the issue. If there is no power the control board will need replaced. Read More...
Ralph April 19, 2015 for Model Number 6621JK2003B My new light socket assembly cam with a thermostat and a ground wire. The old part did not have these. There is no place to connect the ground wire. Does it need to be connected to something? The light still stays on so I am now ordering the main control board. I assume the switch is not the problem since it works in shutting of the door open alert?
1 Answer Ralph, You will want to locate a spot on the metal plate to attach the ground wire to. Normally there is a little tab that it would attach to. As for the light switch, it would not be faulty for your issue and the main control would be the issue. Read More...
