Habib December 03, 2011 for Model Number LFD21860ST The original lamp socket assembly did not include a safety thermostat. The one that I got has thermostat and a green wire to be connected, however, these is no place to connect the green wire or mount the safety thermostat. Can I get the original lamp socket assembly that has no thermostat? If not , how the new one can be installed?
1 Answer Hi Habib. This is an upgraded factory part replacement you have. It is modified with the thermostat for safety and will open the circuit before the light bulbs sockets will melt. Hi Mark. The green wire connects to the metal light mount bracket. There is a corner tab that will have a place where you can connect the green wire. The "round" thing is a thermostat . It is mounted with the "ears" so it will be placed against the cabinet so it can monitor exact cabinet temperatures. There will be opning slots where the sensor mount tab's slide and lock into to be secure. Hope this helps. Thank you. Read More...
Charles E. September 04, 2011 for Model Number LFC25760SW Making the same repair Mark G had to make. Can you please clarify this: "The "round" thing is a thermostat . There will be opening slots where the sensor mount tab's slide and lock into to be secure." By the cabinet I assume you mean the refrigerator ceiling? I can't find any slots to secure it on the refrigerator. Can you please describe just where it is supposed to go? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Charles. You will need to disassemble the light fixture assembly and install the thermostat EAG62831801 where the old one is installed. These can not be see until the light assembly is removed from the refrigerator.Hope this helps. Read More...
Mark G. August 13, 2011 for Model Number lrfc22750tt Trying to repair damage after the light switch failed and the lights stayed on, melting various things. The referenced part (harness) schematic reflects the original part which has a single connector. This differs from the actual part recieved as shown. The new part has a green lead, plus a round thing with what appear to be mounting ears. Are these changes LG's fix to the bulb/heat problem? Do you know of any diagrams or instructions about how to install? Thanks. Mark
