This pressure switch assembly monitors the washer's tub water level and signals the control to fill, drain, and advance cycles properly. Replacing a faulty switch restores accurate water level sensing for reliable washing performance.

  • Senses air pressure from the tub to determine water level
  • Helps prevent overfilling and underfilling
  • Common failure symptoms: overfills or won't fill, won't advance to spin/drain, drains continuously, or shows a PE (water level sensor) error
  • Can cause intermittent cycle stops when readings are inaccurate
What's included: One pressure switch assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Access is typically from the top/console area; note hose and connector positions
  • Inspect/clear the pressure hose; ensure it's not cracked, kinked, or blocked
  • Seat the hose fully on the barb and reconnect the wire harness securely; test a fill cycle for proper operation

Questions & Answers

For Lg Pressure Switch Assembly (Water Level) (Part Number: OEM15668292)

Dave for Model Number WM2501HWA

Yesterday, I noticed the clothes were still really wet. Despite the fact that the washer was trying to go into a final spin, I could hear cold water still going. I turned off the power to the washer, and the water sound stopped. When I turned it back on and set it to rinse and spin, I could hear the water running again. I turned the water shutoffs to off and allowed the machine to spin and finish the cycle. I then shut off power and turned it back on. When I turned the water on, it was not continuously running. Does this sound like a pressure switch problem? There was no error code.

Hello Chris, this an electronically controlled low water use washer, if the water level sensor was out of calibration or the washer could not fill in time the washer would have shut down with a fault code in the display. If that has not happened, it's likely just a usage problem. If the washer does not have a clean cycle option, run a hot cotton wash cycle with a washer cleaning tablet W10549845 Affrewsh Cleaner for washers, afterward reduce the clothes load as needed.

Joe, The size of the load should not matter on draining and spinning with the heaviness of the load. This issue sounds likely that it would be a faulty control board on the unit.

Hello Frank. That code stands for Correct water level (246) is not reached within 8 minutes after water is supplied or it does not reach the preset water level within 25 minutes. Since the unit fills fine on other cycles, but not in the wash cycle, it sounds like the control board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

DT, Yes if the unit is overflowing then the pressure switch would be the issue but would also want to check to make sure that the pressure hose is connected and not damaged.
