Karen April 03, 2015 for Model Number LFC25760ST I am also having the same problem as Jack. I already replaced the light assembly and that did nothing to fix it. The lights in the freezer still work great but I'm getting nothing for the frig. Should I replace the switches next?
1 Answer Hello Karen. Test the switches. If they are good, you will need to replace the main board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dennis June 28, 2014 for Model Number LFC25760ST The lights in the frig department stay on when the doors are closed or when I manually press in the switches. This results in the upper frig warming to the point where the heat sensor will eventually turn them off. This process keeps cycling on and off. Also the lighting will occasionally work correctly for a period of time. I am told this could be the switch itself or perhaps the PCB assembly.
1 Answer Dennis, This issue is not caused by a faulty door switch but would be caused by a bad relay in the main control board. The Main control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mel N March 27, 2014 for Model Number lfx25960st Have same problem as Jack Greider. So I have to remove push switch to remove hinge? How do I remove the upper hinge to check connections and is there a diagram if light harness assembly needs to be replaced. Thanks, Mel
1 Answer Mel, In order to remove the hinge, you will need to remove the 1 or 2 screws that are in the hinge cover. Once you remove the Phillips screws you can lift the cover off. With the cover off you can check the wiring of the switch and also check voltage at the switch. With the lights not coming on with either of the doors open then the issue does not sound like a switch issue but more likely the light socket assembly EAG62831801. Read More...
Avi October 06, 2013 for Model Number LFX25950SB Can you please tell me what the part number is for the harness that this switch goes into? I have been unable to locate it on the diagrams and parts listings for model LFX25950SB. Thank you.
1 Answer Avi, The Switch 6600JB3007E wire harness is part of the cabinet and is not available as a separate part. Read More...
Duain April 11, 2013 for Model Number lfc25760st Upper section not getting circulation from freezer section. With freezer door open and door switch pushed in, the light goes off and fan goes on for about 60 seconds. Then light comes on and fan shuts off with door switch still pushed in! Think there is switch on door track which could account for fan turning off, but lite coming back on w/switch in? Need clue to parts to get cool air to refrigerator section. Seems fan shutting down for some reason.
1 Answer Duain, Based on the information provided, the issue sounds like it would be more of an issue with the wiring or the main control board 6871JB1374B. Read More...
Jack G July 29, 2012 for Model Number LFC25760ST (LG fridge) Inside lite will not come on with either door opened. Can push switch quickly and lite will glow for a second (if that long). Replaceing both switches (if thats the problem) does not bother me. Please let me know and if thats the problem how do you get to the swiotches. Thank You, Jack Greider
1 Answer Jack, You'll want to remove the upper hinge covers and check the wiring and connections at the door switches. and that the switches and covers aren't loose or shifting. Then check or replace the lamp socket assembly EAG62831801 and make sure there are no loose connections in the harness or connectors. Thanks Read More...
Barry November 02, 2011 for Model Number LFX25960ST Disconnected both switches and lights are still on. It shows on the switch to be NC (normally Closed) contact and "Opens" when pressed. The lights remain on with them disconnected. What now?
1 Answer Hello Barry. According to the manufacture, you will need to replace the wiring harness EAG62831801 and the main PCB EBR34917104. This is causing the lights to stay on all the time and not shut off. This can also melt the inside of the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Linda G. October 13, 2011 for Model Number LFC20760 part AP4441529 How to remove push switch from the wire harness, that is, how to separate the two so that the switch can be replaced?
1 Answer Hi Linda. Remove power.Examine the new switch to compare instructions. There are 2- mount tabs that purposely push out right behind the panel where it is installed. You can take a plastic putty knife under the front sides to push in and release the inner mount tabs. Push one in and gently pry one side out. Hold this with one finger and then do the same with the other side. With the switch in hand, use a small screwdriver to release the wiring connector terminal locking clip and pull back on the terminal case. This will release the wire clip from the switch body. It will only plug in one way as it is formed that way. The switch is part # 6600JB3007E. Thank You. Read More...
Mcep September 12, 2011 for Model Number LFX25960ST Lights do not turn off when doors closed. Food on top shelf getting warm. Is this the result of a faulty switch (one of two - #402A?) How can you test which one it may be, other than replacing one at a time to see if it corrects the problem? They have 4 wires coming out of each switch.
1 Answer Hello MCEP. Test and see if the switch is closing when pressed in. If not, you will need to replace the switch 6600JB3007E. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
