Dori's, For this issue the unit is designed to build frost up as it is a manual defrost unit. If there is excessive frost then the gasket may be the issue.

Hello Terry, Is there a frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer? Are the fans running inside and outside of the unit? Is the compressor running and if so, is it unusually hot? I'm sorry but there is really not enough symptoms listed to properly diagnose this issue. David, With the unit getting too cold and not shutting off unless you move control to off would be a faulty thermostat which is part number 216788000.

Everett, When you pull the thermostat out, the capillary tube will push up into the cabinet of the unit. There will be a slot for it to push up into.

Carol, You will want to check to see if the compressor of the unit is running. If the compressor is not running but is warm then the most likely cause would be a faulty start relay. If the compressor is running then the issue would be a sealed system issue.
