Johnc for Model Number WF317AAG/XAA

My washer has stopped draining, but when going through Quick Test, it would sometimes turn on and drain (no noise or grinding, just nice and smooth operation). I've already replaced drain pump, and it was working fine for months. The drain pump works fine on a bench, so I know that's ok. I took a volt meter to pin 1 on CN5 and pin 6 on CN10 on the PCB, and I am getting 120V, but I'm not getting voltage to the drain pump when doing a drain pump test. Any ideas, please? I'd like to keep this thing alive a little bit longer!

JohnC, If you have 120 Vac coming off the control board in the drain test but no power getting to the pump then you will want to check the wiring as this would be the most likely cause for this issue.

Stan, Check the pressure hose to make sure that the hose is not clogged. Check for obstructions in the drain that could cause a slow drain. If these things check ok then this would be a control board issue.

Stan, Check for a clogged pressure hose and check to make sure that the pressure switch is resetting to empty. If it is not then check the drain for clogs and if this checks ok then the pressure switch would be the issue.

Aaron, With power getting to the control board but nothing operating then this will most likely be the main control board that is faulty.

Slick, If the unit is not draining the water then it will not spin and this will most likely be an issue with the wiring between the board and the pump or the control board is faulty

Hello Tony. Make sure all your wires are good. If so, you will need to order and replace the main control board on the unit.

Hello D.W.F., • Check for any kink on the drain hose. If any, straight it out. • Check for any restriction in the drain hose. • Close the door and press the Rotary Cycle Selector. For safety reasons, the washer does not tumble or spin with the door open. • When it is freezing outside, check if it is frozen inside the drain hose. • Check if the water level signal input is correct. Go to Board Input Test Mode. • Go to Quick Test Mode and do Drain Pump Test. • Check if there is any twist in the hose (the one between Tub and Drain Pump). • Check if it reads AC 120V at the pump when a spin cycle is selected. • Read the winding resistance of the pump motor. (14.2 @ 7% Ohms) • Check the pump at CN10 (Pin6) on PCB. It should read 120Vac.

JSmith, The 7E would be a silever care kit failure. You will want to check the wiring between the silver care and the main PCB but the silver care PCB would be the likely cause for failure.
