Satbir for Model Number RF28HFEDBSR/AA

Hi, My problem started a few months ago, There was a noise coming from the defrost fan and the next day the temperature indicator for the fridge started blinking. So I replaced the defrost fan DA31-00338A. Before putting the new fan, the fridge was shut down for more than 24 hours. After this, the fridge worked fine for a month or so, and then again fridge temperature indicator started blinking This time I power recycled the fridge by turning off the circuit breaker for 15 minutes and starting again and the fridge would work fine for a day and it will again start blinking. This kept happening for 2 weeks or so So I replaced the defrost sensor DA32-10104N. After replacing the fridge won’t show the set temperature i.e 7 c even after running for a day. I checked by placing a thermometer and it was reading close to 1 c. Since the compressor was not shutting down I decided to turn off the fridge for 2 days I checked the defrost heater DA47-00244U before turning on and it showed a reading of 140 ohms at room temperature and based on my search on the internet it seems to be fine Now when I started after 2 days, seems like the fridge is fully reset as it would read in Fahrenheit when started and I had to change it to Celcius and is cooling quickly and attained set fridge temperature of 7 c for the fridge and -15 c for the freezer in a couple of hours This morning it’s working fine and no blinking so far, also noticed the compressor turning on and off as expected I am skeptical about this fix and think it will happen again within a few days. If this happens again should I go for changing the mainboard DA92-00593B? Please advice? Thanks, Satbir

Satbir, Based on the information that you have provided and what has been changed. This would most likely be caused by a faulty control board.

Cybersurfr, With the temperature sensors having already been replaced the issue with the unit will be a faulty control board DA94-02663A.

Marshall, the main control will need to be tested at connection CN50 for DC voltage. With the black probe of a meter at pin 6, the red probe would go to pin 3 and should measure 12VDC, then red to pin 4 to measure 5VDC. If the voltage is not present or low, then the main control has failed and would need to be replaced (the REV number of your model will be necessary to ensure the correct control is replaced). If the voltage is present and correct, then the issue would be with the display assembly (REV number necessary to ensure the correct board is replaced).

Rob, An intermittent cooling fan could create the intermittent cooling in the refrigerator compartment. Usually, it's a problem in the DCV fan motor, you may want to recheck for constant voltage to the fan, before you replace the DA94-02679A / DA94-02679A Main PCB Assy. . At this point we wouldn't expect the sensors or the control board to be the issue. Recheck for loose connections etc. before replacing the fan motor.

John A for Model Number RF23HCEDTSR/AA

Samsung RF23HCEDTSR/AA Fridge ran perfectly for 3 years. Then the fan (inside the fridge) started icing up and making a clattering noise until it eventually stopped turning. I defrosted and replaced both sensors (one that monitors the fridge temperature and the second that's clipped on the refrigerant line. I also checked the heater for the proper continuity value and it was OK. Anyway it didn't fix the problem, it's still freezing up and needing to be defrosted every couple of months. Wife want to throw it out and buy a new one.. I don't blame her but Ouch $2000 plus. Could the problem be the electronic control board (DA92-00486A)? It seems to me the problem is the heater is not staying on long enough to do the job. You thoughts?

Bonnie for Model Number RF28JBEDBSR/AA

I bought my refrigerator just a few days ago and the panel that you choose ice/water and freezer/refrigerator temperatures etc. is blinking 6 C and I can't get it to reset. I called Samsung and they can't get anyone out to fix it. I am wondering if purchasing this and installing it will fix my problem? The freezer seems cold enough but the refrigerator doesn't seem cold enough but I can't tell since the control panel is not working properly.

Hello Bonnie, This the code for the Ambient Sensor Error. The voltage of MAIN PCB at terminal CN78- “8” to CN78-”12” should read between 4.5V~1.0V. If not, replace the main board DA94-02663C. If so, verify the connections at the door hinge before replacing the display board DA92-00596A.

Bill, With the unit getting down to 16 degrees in the refrigerator compartment, this sounds like it would be caused by a faulty sensor. It would be recommended to test the sensor to make sure that this is the cause. If the sensors check ok then the control board would be the most likely issue.
