Patrick, Based on this issue it sounds likely that the main control board of the unit would be causing the unit to act in this manner.

Hello, I have the aforementioned Samsung French door. Freezer and refrigerator not cooling or making ice. No error codes on front display. If I unplug and let sit for minute, restart appears two flashes on inverter bd led then goes off. Sound like something is running internally but do not hear compressor running. Funny thing is, when I check open lands on control pub for dc voltage, inverter bd led turns on solid and it sounds like compressor starts. Thanks in advance, Parker

1 Answer

Parker, Based on the information this would be a faulty inverter board on the unit.

BSP, The 84 C error code is a compressor motor stall error. Check the compressor wire connections and the soldering of the components on the inverter. This issue sounds likely that it would be an inverter issue.

Jeff, Unfortunately we do not have information on how hot the heat sink will get but if it is getting hot enough to scorch plastic then this would be too hot.

Jerry, for normal operation of the inverter board, it should have a solid red light, if you are not getting voltage, check back at the main control to see if it is sending voltage to the inverter

Our Samsung refrigerator is not cooling. The freezer is working fine. The compressor and fan are working. 8 months ago the same thing happened and the repair man replaced the assembly cover and evaporator and it worked fine until a month ago. We had a repair man come out and said it was the main upper control board so we ordered it from you guys and my husband put it in. The refrigerator is still not cooling and on the inverter board(DA92-00483B) the red light is staying on. Does the inverter board need replaced?

1 Answer

Renee, You will want to pull the rear cover of the refrigerator out and check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils. The unit having a defrost issue would be the most likely cause for this issue.

Ken for Model Number RF32FMQDBSR/AA-0000

The ice maker stopped working (producing no ice) and then about 5 days later, the freezer stopped working. This is a dual compressor model - so 2 inverters. The top inverter LED is on constant, and the lower inverter LED is off (not flashing.) Both compressors seem to be operating (warm or hot) and the evap fan is running. Everything else seems normal - the front panel is working and the refrigerator is operational. Thinking the lower inverter board is broke?
