Jack December 03, 2015 for Model Number RFG298AAPN I have a 11 year old Samsung RFG298AAPN that has stopped cooling the Fridge and Freezer. Compressor and compressor fan kick in. There appears to be no airflow in either compartment. Temperatures on the display start at ambient temperature and work their way to the set temperatures as the unit runs, but the internal temperatures are unaffected. Can't imagine the motors all failed at once.
1 Answer Hello Jack, You should remove the rear wall in the freezer and check the frost pattern. It sounds like there is a sealed system issue. Read More...
Anvu October 20, 2015 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA My Samsung refrigerator unit stop cooling several months ago on the refrigerator side. There is ice build up on the Evaporator coil, just the upper part of it. There is no continuity on the defrost heater and it has been replaced. The refrigerator works for several weeks but there is ice build up on the Evaporator coil. This time the defrost heater's sensor is being tested for continuity. Its resistant increased as temperature drop, working like it is supposed to be. On the back of the refrigerator unit has two PCBA boards and I don't know which one control the defrost cycle. Does it sounds like the defrost problem? If so which PCBA board control the defrost cycle? Defrost heater replaced and sensor is working so it must be the controller. Please advise.
1 Answer AnVu, The main control board is what controls the defrost in conjunction with the reading it gets from the defrost sensor. If the sensor is ok then the main control board would be the issue. The main control board is part number DA41-00670C. Read More...
Richard September 23, 2015 for Model Number RFG298AARS Samsung My son has a Samsung RFG298AARS refrigerator that stopped cooling. Had a service firm look at it and after $463 in repairs, it is still not cooling. The repairman changed the main board and when it didn’t start he said it was the compressor overload, but he didn’t have that part. My son’s faith in this firm by now was fading and consequently put the repair project on hold. I checked the overload and it was good, but ordered a new one anyway and installed to no avail. Since I have a single blinking light on the inverter, I decided to take a closer look at the unit. In tracing the voltage requirements, I found a bad 10ohm 3watt resister which I replaced. Now the voltages across the panel match what is shown in the service manual, but still no compressor start. Everything seems to point to it being a bad inverter board #Da41-00404D, do you agree? Does anyone know what the voltage coming from this panel to the compressor should be?
1 Answer Hello Richard. The compressor voltage should be 120 vac. If not, you will need to replace the inverter board on the unit. Read More...
Tom September 19, 2015 for Model Number RFG297AAWP/XAA Our Samsung has quit cooling. It started with the freezer (although the refrigerator appeared to hold a little high on temp.)I do not know if both were out and the circulation just took a while to warm or if they both were out..It would blink 4 times when plugged in. Then after checking this a few times it started blinking twice. Now it does not blink just comes on and off.Took off the service panel and noticed a rectangular capacitor smelled like burnt wires. I saw MF on it for Microfahrons. What are your thoughts?
1 Answer Tom, With the unit slowly going out, It would be recommended to check the compressor to see if it is running. If the compressor is running then you will want to check the evaporator coils and see if there is a frost pattern. If there is no frost pattern then you will have a sealed system issue in which you will want to have a technician to check the unit out. Read More...
Kevin August 27, 2015 for Model Number RF266AEPN/XAA Our electricity went off and on 7-8 times in about a minute. Everything seems to work except the compressor. Lights, fan, temp controls all work. When you plug it in you can hear a few things trying to start but the compressor does nothing. Fuse on either panel are not blown. What panel controls the comp. start up? Your website shows #DA41-0041 1B but it does not show the big board. #AW2-SMPS I think that is the #, is it available? Thanks Kevin
John July 05, 2015 for Model Number RSG257AABP I have 2011 Samsung side by side refrigerator model # RSG257AABP. The freezer stopped working but refrigerator side works fine. I have tried unplugging it for over 30 minutes (as suggested) and also removed lower back panel to vacuum the it out. Could it be the inverter board (DA41-0411A)?
1 Answer John, The inverter board would not cause the freezer to not work but the refrigerator to still work. The most likely cause for this issue would be a bad stepping motor part number DA97-07070A. This stepping motor will direct the refrigerant between the 2 sides of the unit. Read More...
Ann June 24, 2015 for Model Number rfg295aars Our French door, bottom freezer, quit when I pulled it away from the wall. Technician came out a week later & said that the fuse blew and ruined the board. They said it would be 7-10 days to get the part. after a week they told us that it would be 8-10 more weeks to get the part from china. is there any way to get a board for RFG295AARS MODEL. It is 5 years old
1 Answer Hello Ann. Sorry, per the manufacturer, Nationwide Back Order, Usually ships within 4-6 weeks. Read More...
Rod D June 23, 2015 for Model Number Samsung RF268abbp The buttons on the outside of the door are unresponsive. We are unable to change settings such as water, crushed ice, cubed ice, temperature. The buttons on the outside of the door are unresponsive. Would this be a inverter board issue?
1 Answer Hello Rod. It sounds like the cover DA97-05562C will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
John A. April 11, 2015 for Model Number RF268ABWP/XAA-0000 My control panel has gone dark. None of the buttons seem to work. I still get cold water but I believe that is because that was the last option used. Everything else - including ice maker seem to work but I can only get ice from freezer - not the door.
1 Answer Hello John, You should first check the connections at the door hinge. If no problems are located, the dispenser cover assembly DA97-05401R, (which contains the control), will be the suspect. Read More...
David April 01, 2015 for Model Number samsung rf263aers My Samsung rf263aers is having a defrost problem. On the inverter board it looks like there is white glue next to one of the components. Could that be my problem?
1 Answer David, The inverter board would have no bearing on the unit going into the defrost. You will want to test the defrost sensor on the evaporator coil and if it checks ok then the issue will be the main control board of the unit. Read More...
