Bob September 09, 2014 for Model Number RFG298AARS Hi, I have a Samsung model rfg298aars refrigerator that has quit cooling both in frig,and freezer. I had previously did some wiring in my house and had to shut the main power off and on numerous times the next day the frig. was not cooling. I had a repair man come check it out. The compressor was not getting any power he said.He then checked the pba sup panel and the fuse was burnt.He could not locate a new fuse (3amp al/250v} Are these fuses available or do I need a new board.Could the pba sub panel be the cause of the compressor not running. Any help will be appreciated, also approx how long would it take to get a new panel delivered to Redford,NY 12978 and if its not the panel can it be returned. Thank You

Thanh November 08, 2013 for Model Number RS263TDWP Hi, My refrigerator is not cold. I opened both fridge and freezer coil and see that the fridge coil is barely cold and not cold at all on the freezer coil. The compressor is running though. A technician checked it and said he wanted to replace both compressor and inverter board. He doesn't want just to replace the compressor which is under warranty. It seems strange that both can go bad at the same time. Is there a way for me to isolate the issue? Could I check the input and output on the inverter board to see if the problem is on the inverter board or the compressor? Could I also check the compressor input resistance to see if it is working properly? I have a voltmeter with frequency measurement. Thanks.

Mike L. October 27, 2012 for Model Number samsung refridgerator RF268ABBP My refridgerator has been repaired by a service tech because of a leak in the coil. The leak was repaired and the pump replaced and the system was recharged. About a month after the repair the refridgerator went into a defrost cycle and the cycle extended until everything had melted in the freezer compartment. It then started cooling again and froze everything. I started by replacing the bimetal sensor on the cooling coil. This changed nothing. It cooled until the next defrost cycle and melted everything again. I then changed the large main circuit board. Again, this changed nothing. It cooled til the next defrost cycle and melted everything again. I then changed the smaller circuit board- part # DA41-00404E. This corrected the defrost cycle problem and the refridge worked as it was suppose to. One month later the defrost cycle malfunctioned again. I replaced the panel again and it worked for 3 weeks and then failed again. Can you give me some insites on where the problem might be and how to repair it?
1 Answer Hello Mike, Based on the information provided, you may want to check your evaporator thermistors. If the thermistors DA32-00006S are causing the unit to stay in defrost then this will cause the unit to not operate. There is a thermistor in both upper and lower sections. You can check the resistance of the thermistors by filling a cup with ice water preferably crushed and add a teaspoon to make a slush. Mix thoroughly and allow to sit 2 to 3 minutes. This will give you a 32 degree reference. Put the thermistor into the mixture and allow to sit for 1 minute. Check the resistance which should be close to 13,300 ohms. Before reinstalling thermistor be sure to rinse off with fresh water. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
