Curtis Jernigan April 07, 2020 for Model Number RS265TDBP/XAA Inverter board has one constant flash. unit not cooling board area also has a smell of being hot when I removed back panel.
1 Answer Curtis, You will want to check to make sure that the connections on the inverter board are good and at the compressor. If the wiring is ok then replace the inverter board and if the issue continues then the compressor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Maggie March 28, 2020 for Model Number RF28HFEDTSR/AA Problem: Noticed interior temp seemed warm, checked with 2 independent thermometers inside cabinet. Both were reading ~ 50 Deg. inside refrig. Panel display was set and reading 40 deg. • Removed inside refrig. evap. panel to see if evap. coils were iced over- o Minimal to no-ice build-up on evaporator coils. o There was ice at top above the evap. coils around temp sensor and copper tubes. ? Defrosted all the ice, reassembled and restarted the fridge. o The panel temp was set to 38 waited for interior to cool down and reloaded food. o Next morning interior temp was 43 deg. • Freeze is maintaining 0 degrees. • Both ice makers are on and making ice. • Using "Force mode" function: o "FF"- Compressor sounds to be working, you can hear it start and run. ? If Refrigerator is put into "Force Mode" the temperature can go to 32 or colder. o "rd"- Refrigerator Defrost- appears to be working audible/hear it. Plastic popping sound. • Observation- Door temp. display appears lower 38 Deg. vs interior temp. 46 deg. or higher. • Inverter board LED solid when compressor is running/off when compressor is not running
1 Answer Maggie, if the thermistors inside of the refrigerator are measuring in resistance the correct temperature of the cabin (as taken by a thermometer) then the issue would be with the main control board. For the most accurate information regarding the main control board, the REV number would be needed. Read More...
James H. February 23, 2020 for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA Not cooling either freezer or refrigerator, pulled back panel, checked compressor It is good, was getting a red flashing light on the back 5- was told it was the inverter board so bought a new one now we are getting one flashing light, which it says is a start fail. Any else this could be besides a bad inverter board since this is brand new?
1 Answer James, we wouldn't expect a new inverter board to be defective at this point. Since the compressor checked OK you want to check the inverter PCB and compressor relay connectors. If the connectors are OK, replace the inverter board, if no change replace the compressor. On the inverter board, check the CN04 connector wires for 13 VDC black to gray wires, and 5VDC across brown to gray wires from the main PCBoard, if you have the voltage recheck the compressor windings and replace the inverter board. if the voltage is low or no voltage, replace the main PC board. for Read More...
James February 06, 2020 for Model Number samsung RFG238AARS/XAA The fridge and freezer are too cold. Set to 36/-2 and the actual temp is about 20/-20. The compressor runs almosy constantly. No ice buildup issues. Replaced 3 thermisters {da320006s and da3200006r], thanks to your excellent videos.problem remains. Pulled back panel, led on pcb board solid red. What to do next?
1 Answer James, With the unit running too cold then this would most likely be an issue with the main control board. Read More...
Andy January 12, 2020 for Model Number RF4287HABP/XAA Hi. I have a Samsung refrigerator, model RF4287HABP. It is not cooling in the fridge or freezer. I've reset it by unplugging it and plugging back in. Didn't work. I took off the back panel and there is a single flashing red light. It is a constant single flash and according to the chart it says starting failure. Is this something that can easily be repaired? Thanks
1 Answer Andy, It sounds like the inverter board has failed on the unit and would need to be replaced. Check connections of the wiring to the compressor first and if this checks ok then replace the inverter board. Read More...
Kim December 19, 2019 for Model Number RFG298AARS/XAA BOth fridge and freezer not cooling, condenser motor not running. Red LED on smaller pcb blinks 5x in between pauses. What could be broken?
1 Answer Hello Kim, the main control board has detected a problem with the compressor's inverter board sending power to the compressor. The inverter board is part DA41-00614F. Read More...
Lionel December 17, 2019 for Model Number RFG297AARS FREEZER AND FRIDGE WERE WERE NOT KEEPING COOL OR FREEZING. DID A RESET BY PUSHING POWER FREEZE AND POWER COOL AT THE SAME TIME. THAT SEEM TO WORK TILL THE NEXT DAY. I TRIED IT AGAIN AND ALSO UNPLUGED IT FOR TEN MINUTES ,DIDN'T SEEM TO DO ANYTHING . I TOOK OFF THE BACK LOWER COVER .THE FAN AND COMPRESSOR WERE NOT RUNNIG. TOOK COVER OFF OF CONTROL BOARDS,THE RED LIGHT ON INVERTER BOARD IS NOT ON. UNPLUGGGED AND REPLUGGED, RED LIGHT BLINKED TWICE THEN STAYED OFF . COULD HERE A CLIK ON BIGGER BOARD. COMPRESSOR AND FAN STILL DIDN'T START . DID ANOTHER RESET LEFT IT FOR TEN MINUTES IT IS RUNNIG WITH RED LIGHT ON .ITHAS BEEN RUNNIG 40 MIN. ONLY AT 7C FIRDGE IS AT 4C
1 Answer Hello Lionel, the 2 blinks is a code for an internal failure in the compressor inverter (driver) board ,repair will be replacing the inverter board part DA41-00614F. Read More...
Dan November 21, 2019 for Model Number RFG297AARS/XAA My Refrigerator is cooling fine. The Freezer is not. I ran Self Diagnostics and the PCB Inverter board shows good. The Evaporator coils look good as well. Everything I've read seems to point to the board being bad but the light is solid. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Dan, since the self-test showed no fault codes, meaning control board operation is not being affected by something external to the board then the next step is to replace the main control board itself. DA41-00538A Read More...
Michael November 06, 2019 for Model Number RF268ABRS/XAA-0000 The compressor will not come on to cool the freezer or the refrigerator. The fan runs immediately and stays on when plugged in. I replaced the inverter board and the overload protector and there has not been a change. The red LED light on the inverter board is on and is NOT blinking. I hear the clicking to turn on the compressor every few minutes but nothing seems to change. Any ideas on what might be the problem? Perhaps the compressor is bad?
1 Answer Michael, it is very possible that the compressor has failed. The windings would need to be tested (with the refrigerator unplugged) by testing from each pin to the other on the compressor. The windings should measure equally when each set is tested. If not, then the compressor has failed. Read More...
Ron November 04, 2019 for Model Number RF268ABWP Fridge and freezer not cooling , compressor does not come on, condenser fan eventually comes on then off. No trouble codes. And everything else seems to operate as it should. The inverter board LED continually blinks 5 times and pause, then repeats. I Ohm tested the compressor, 11 Ohms to each end no matter which two and open to the case.
1 Answer Hello Ron, the compressor inverter board is detecting a low voltage condition and will not power up the compressor, replace the inverter board part DA41-00614F. Read More...
