Jack October 20, 2019 for Model Number RF263AEWP/XAA-00 compressor wont run,ref and freezer wont work, inverter board has flashing red light constant..
Jason October 08, 2019 for Model Number RF267AERS/XAA-01 The compressor will not come on. The fan will run. The first time this happened we bypassed to overload switch because it was bad. We ordered a new one because when we bypassed it the fridge worked. This time it will not work with the overload switch bypassed. The compressor tries to start but don't. I can hear the relay clicking when I unplug it and plug it back in. I also hear it click again after a little bit. The inverter led is blinking twice. it also flipped the breaker to the electrical outlet both times this happened. Would the problem be the inverter board or am I looking at a bad compressor?
1 Answer Jason, with the unit unplugged the compressor can be checked for resistance. The windings of the compressor should measure 10 Ohms when each pin is tested to the other pins. If the compressor windings test good, the issue would be with the inverter DA92-00111B if the wiring is good. Read More...
Brett October 06, 2019 The neither the fridge nor freezer is cooling. The only error codes is 71c and 72c. The fan by the compressor is running and the compressor appears to be on at least is vibrating. The inverter board has a solid red light on. What is the problem?
1 Answer Brett, We will need your model number to help you find the right parts for your unit. Please post another question with all your info included thank you. Read More...
Mark October 02, 2019 for Model Number RF268ACRS/XAA01 Lights and fan work. Inverter board fried and melted plastic behind it. Replaced inverter board. Blinks 4 times pause blinks 4 times, etc...compressor not coming on.
1 Answer Mark, when the inverter blinks 4 times it is telling you that the compressor motor is locked up. You are looking at having to replace the compressor. You would need a liscensed technician to do the sealed system repair. The compressor would be part number BK190CL2C/ASH Read More...
Rick September 17, 2019 for Model Number RFG238AARS/XAA Stopped cooling, both the fridge and freezer. Repairman diagnosed as PCB inverter. Replaced the board. The compressor is running as well as the fan. Am I supposed to hear a fan running on the inside of the unit? I don't feel any airflow on the inside of the unit. I bought this unit for $60 knowing that I had to replace the inverter board. I was searching for a good garage fridge is why I bought it.
1 Answer Rick, the evaporator fan can stop running when the door is opened for a maximum of 5 minutes before the fan will automatically turn on with the door open. These fans can operate quietly. To check if the fan is operating, the door switch will need to be activated and the fan can be listened for this way. Read More...
Gerald September 11, 2019 for Model Number samsung RF221NCTASR Ice maker stopped working a few weeks ago. The temp control doesn't indicate any lights except the fridge temp control. Only the minimum setting light and the max setting lights continually flash. No other light are working.Changed the main control board and is still doing the same thing. The fridge and freezer is cooling.
1 Answer Gerald, the wiring connections for the ice maker will need to be inspected to ensure there are no loose connections. If the connections are good, then the main control will need to be inspected for loose connections. If the main control does not have any loose connections, then the main control will need to be tested for voltage output. At connection CN90 pin 9 (with red probe of meter) to pin 14 (with black probe of meter) there should be a DC voltage reading between 1VDC to 4.5VDC. If there is not a voltage reading within this range, then the main control DA92-00426A has failed. If the voltage reading is within this range, then the ice maker DA97-07603B has failed. Read More...
Bill Horlock September 08, 2019 for Model Number RFG237AARS/XAA-0000 Both refrigerator and freezer cool and freeze will warm intermittently. No error codes. Removed the circuit board access panel and inverter PCB board LED is blinking once indicating "starter failure" "Check inverter PCB connector and Comp relay connector. I don't know where these connectors are. Can I solve this problem by replacing the Inverter PCB board?
1 Answer Bill, The inverter would be the most likely cause for the compressor to not operate and the wiring to the board and compressor are good. Read More...
David August 30, 2019 for Model Number RF260BEAESR/AA Main fridge lights are blinking in sync with the red LED on inverter board. Blinks are constant and never stop. Nothing is running and front panel is blank.
1 Answer Hello David, This is most likely an issue with the Main PCB Assembly DA92-00384E. Read More...
Jason August 12, 2019 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA-03 My compressor is running, freezer works fine, but the refrigerator is warm. Coil is getting cold but the fan isn’t running. Which circuit board runs the evap fan? Is there a way to test if the board is good? Is there a way to test if the evap motor is good?
1 Answer Jason, To test the fan motor check voltage at the main control board on connector 75 pins 3 and 10 for 7 to 12 vdc. If the control is supplying the voltage the fan is bad. Read More...
Jimmy August 02, 2019 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA Refrigerator and freezer are both working but front left door display will not respond - only dispenses ice and shows temperature. Ice maker is not working and the ice bucker/auger are stuck even after defrosting. Would like to get an idea of the issue before we go through a series of service calls (had a bad experience the last time). What is most likely the next best step in terms of repair - replacing the control board?
1 Answer Jimmy, for the unresponsive interface DA97-08703L, you may want to ensure that it is not in the locked state by pressing Energy Saver for 3 to 5 seconds. If it does not cause the interface to allow for a response, the user interface will have failed. In regards to the bin and auger, if there is an ice build-up between the bin and the auger, it can cause the bin to seize up. This would be caused by an air leak which would most likely come from the ice chute. Defrosting would take several hours to clear the ice or can be done by very carefully using a hairdryer. If using a hairdryer, caution is necessary as it is possible to damage the lining. In regards to the ice maker, there is a reset button that can be accessed once the bin can be removed. By pressing and holding this button, the ice maker can be tested for operation. If it harvests and no water comes through, but there is a hum, then there is a water flow issue that could be from the valve DA97-07827B. If there is no hum, the ice maker is not calling for water and would need to be replaced. If the ice maker goes through the entire harvest and fills with water, the thermistor in the ice maker has failed and the ice maker would need to be replaced. For a 12 pin connection ice maker, use part number DA97-07549B. For a 10 pin connection, use part number DA97-06364B. Read More...
