Bill, Check for a water leak going to the water valve but sounds like there may also be a faulty water valve if there is no water to the dispenser or to the icemaker.

Graham, Thanks for the question!!! There is a test switch located on the ice maker. You can press the button until the unit starts to cycle then release it. The button is located on the bottom side of the ice maker motor unit.

Bob, Thanks for the question!!! It could be the valve sticking or the control board relay. To verify check for voltage on the valve. If voltage is present then the valve is okay and the control would need to be replaced.
