Jeh February 28, 2019 for Model Number RF26XAERS/XAA The water tank for water dispenser for our Samsung frig/freezer froze. I turned up the temps a little for the frig and freezer but I still get ice on the back wall of refrigerator right behind the water tank. I noticed that the water tank heater was not warm to the touch at all so I purchased a new water tank heater from you. The new heater also does not get warm to the touch...should it be? If so, what else could be the problem. If not, why not if it is a "heater"?
1 Answer JEH, You will want to check the CN79 connection from the pink to the white wire for 13vdc. If there is not 13vdc present then this would be a faulty control board. Read More...
Trey August 02, 2018 for Model Number RF26XAERS/XAA The freezer portion is not freezing at all and the only error diagnostics gives is a water tank heater issue. Fridge seems to be working OK. There is no frost on the freezer coils and fans are working. Any suggestions? Also, on the PCB diagram, the water tank heater has (also controls other options), and I wasn't sure what that specifies.
1 Answer Trey, First check connector on pcb at cn79 for proper insertion. Then check for 72 ohm between pins 6 and 10.These are pink and white wires. If findings are more or less then 10% replace heater. If normal the pcb main is your cause. Also reset the unit before testing by unplugging and letting sit at least 2 minutes before reapplying power. Most of the time resetting these units cures the problem.Any faults disrupts normal operation. Bryn December 03, 2016 for Model Number RS2545SH Hello, I have a RS2545SH side by side and the freezer part works great but the refrigerator evaporater keeps freezing over and the fridge won't cool. It lasts for about a week then the fan starts making a lot of noise, from the ice, then it stops working. Is this the water tank heater going bad or is it something else? Also the water dispenser does still work so that's why I think it may be something like a sensor. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bryn. It sounds like the unit has a defrost issue with it. You will need to test all your defrost parts on the unit. If all parts are good, then replace the main board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Ram K March 07, 2014 for Model Number Samsung RS2530BBP Frost and ice build up in the freezer. Ice melted in the ice bin. upper portion warm and lower portion bin cold. Removed the panel. cleaned most of the ice. kept the equipment unplugged for two days till all the ice melted and the evaporator coils fully dry and cleaned. Restarted and it worked normal for about 10 days. The problem reappeared. The inside left panel on the refrigerator side was found warm. Appreciate advise.
1 Answer Hello Ram. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
