Bob T December 14, 2013 for Model Number RS2534 BB Both old and newly bought defrost heater (Da47-00094C) had 4.39 KOhms readings. These readings seems to conflict to earlier answers. Any ideas why?
1 Answer Hello Bob. DA47-00094C is not a defrost heater. It is the water tank heater. It is testing good. The readings are based on temperature being tested. The only way to replace the heater is replace the evaporator coils DA96-00020Q. Read More...

Rob September 07, 2013 Fridge is a Samsung RS2555SL Side by Side. Fridge evaporator coils freeze up so I have narrowed to a defrost cycle issue. I replaced the defrost sensor and that did not fix the problem. Based on research, it looks like it can only be one of 2 remaining failures. The heater (MFG Part Number: DA47-00094C) or the main board. When I power off/on the fridge, the front display shows a 3 before returning to ready state. I know this signifies a defrost problem but does it indicate a particular part failure? The main board is the more expensive part so I tested the heater with a multimeter and it registered 468 ohms. I also did a continuity test and it showed no continuity. Do either of these tests point to a faulty heater? Idea's? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Rob, If you are reading 486 ohms on the resistance reading of the heater then the heater would not be the problem. The Control board would be the issue and would need to be replaced. Read More...
David March 27, 2013 for Model Number RS2545SH Had a problem, it started 2 weeks ago. Fridger temp wasn't stay @ the ideal temp. as 36 it went up to 58 it didn't come down. - Freezer's just working fine! I plugged out for a day and plugged back, it went back to working @temp 36. A few days ago, exactly same problem happened again and this time seemed moter never stop, being noisey. So last night I plugged power out, now it's working again. I think it works as temporary, problem would be back. So can you help for solving this kind of problem?! Thanks.
1 Answer David, You will want to pull the evaporator cover that is on in the back of the refrigerator compartment. You will want to check the thermistors for breaks or loose connections and test the thermistors resistance. Also check the heater to make sure that it has continuity. It sounds like you are having a defrost issue and after unplugging for a while it allows it to work again. Read More...
Joe C January 08, 2013 for Model Number FRT18TPH 18 cft Frigidaire freezer freezing up and fridge not cooling.
1 Answer Hello Joe, You will want to check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running. IF you have impacted evaporator coils then you will want to check for continuity on the defrost thermostat 5303917954 and defrost heater 3206453. If one shows open then replace. If they both check ok then you will need to replaced defrost timer 215846602. Read More...
