For Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM15816714)

Joe for Model Number RF260BEAESR/AA-0001

Hello, I have a Samsung refrigerator/freezer and the ice maker was not getting water from the sink area to the ice maker. i had a service tech come out and he replaced the heating tube element, which had stop working and the entire heating tube was completely frozen. He replaced the heating element and water is now getting to the ice maker. But, now the ice maker is now making ice but it is not dumping the ice into the ice maker bin. The service tech is out on leave for about a week and no one from the service desk is answering the phone and not returning my phone messages. Is there something I can check? I do press the reset switch or button on the bottom of the ice maker and the motor does turn to dump the ice into the bin. But, it is not dumping the ice into the bin automatically. Thanks for any help, Joe

Tim, For this issue, with the icemaker having already been replaced and the icemaker filling up with water, the main control board will be the cause for the icemaker not making ice.

Brandon Reid for Model Number rf260beaesr

We have a samsung french door model number rf260beaesr and we are having issues with the ice maker not making ice. There is no water coming into the ice maker. We replaced the filter housing with the inlet valve in it. Checked the water pressure coming into the fridge and defrosted and pulled the small hose that drops the water in the tray. I think we narrowed it down to either the ice maker itself or the module. When I test the ice maker it seems to be working the tray flips and the arm drops plus i get the ding from the refrigerator. Maybe the inlet valve isn't being told to open? Does the ice maker do that? Or is it the ice maker module?

Brandon, It would be recommended to check to make sure that the water valve is getting power to it. If the valve is getting power to it then the valve would be the issue. If there is no power then the icemaker module DA59-00294B would correct this issue.

Gary, You will want to try to push the test button on the icemaker and see if it will cycle. If it will not then the motor module is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Gary, The ice arm on this icemaker is not a shut off arm. The Ice arm is just a feeler arm in which it feels to see if the ice bin is full. it should be in the up position in the icemaker setting and will only drop down on the harvest mode.

Fourkirbys, There is a foam piece that this would go into and butt up against the ice tray, then there is a plastic cover that clips in place to hold it in. If these pieces are missing then you would need to replace the icemaker as they are not sold separately from the icemaker.

Hugh, Check and make sure all the doors close and seal properly. Then check the ice maker fill tube DA97-00209Z / DA97-00209Z, it has a heater, if the heater fails, the tube can develop an ice blockage and keeps the ice maker from filling. Lastly and less likely would be the fill valve in the DA82-02868A / DA62-03150F Case Assembly/Filter Tank.
