Allen K for Model Number RF323TEDBBC/AA

We have two ice makers and the bottom one has completely fallen out into the ice tray. How do I remove the drawer so I can try and re-install the Ice maker? The top one has been a constant headache with the ice freezing up against the wall and creating an ice dam. We have had warranty work done on it several times where they installed a new seal and we still have this problem. Now our warranty has expired. The unit was built in May of 2012. Any advice?

Allen, To remove the drawer assembly you will need to first remove the upper rack by lifting it up and out of the frame. Once you have this out and with the drawer pulled all the way out there will be a slot at the back of the rail assembly that you will push in on. There will be one on either side, once you push this tab you will be able to slide the drawer out with the rails.

Leah, With the icemaker not cycling on its own then this would most likely be a faulty thermostat on the icemaker and the icemaker would need to be replaced.

Christopher for Model Number RF323TEDBSR/AA

My Samsung RF323TEDBSR/AA has 2 Ice Makers.. the bottom ice maker overflows and causes a big Mess. There looks like there was a switch there at one time but appears to be broken. this looks like switch that would shut the ice maker off once it has reach capacity of ice. I also am looking to replace that top drawer that holds the ice bucket in the bottom ice maker as I had to break it when the ice maker overfilled and froze the whole unit in place. Can you help me figure out what parts to buy?

1 Answer

Dave, There should be a piece of foam that the sensor sits into and clips to the front bottom of the icemaker mold. If the foam piece is missing then you would need to replace the icemaker assembly.
