For Samsung Refrigerator Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM12423888)

Jackson for Model Number RF268ABRS/XAA-0000

I have this nice Samsung fridge I got for a good price and trying to find out what parts I need in order to fix the issues. The first problem is the ice/water dispenser on the door reads PC ER and would constantly beep. I took the thing apart and ripped out the noise maker and in the process broke the water/ice spring and button. for the past 6 months its been great and we've used it with pc/er blinking. it still makes ice in bottom and top. However the other day i was cleaning out the freezer and broke the cover for the sensor on the ice maker now the ice is not breaking it is making one big giant ice block. I just order the replacement part for it. Basically my question is what steps should i take in order to get the computer on front to work with ice dispenser, water and to stop seeing PC er

Jackson, You will want to try to press energy saver and alarm button at the same time to put the unit through the self diagnostic mode. There is not a error code showing for this unit that would be PC ER. If the diagnostics fail then the issue will most likely be in the main control board.

Hello Chapó. It sounds like the dispenser cover DA97-08118P is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can check it to see if a button is stuck on the unit.

Hello Bob, Id the display is showing PC-Er, you need to verify the connection of the harness at the top left door hinge. Unplug it and reconnect it with power off to the refrigerator. If the error returns, the control will most likely have an issue. For a more detailed diagnosis, please re-post with the model number from the units' I.D. tag.

Lyn, The main control board is located in the back of the unit. You will remove the cover over the compressor compartment and is located on the right side in a box. With this unit not defrosting for either sections then the control board would most likely be the issue.

Hello Bobodaclown, The first thing you need to try is to empty the ice bin into a bowl and clear any small ice particles from the bottom of the bin. This can be done quickly and easily with hot water in the sink. Put the ice bin back in and see if the auger turns. This can be done by holding the door switch closed with the door open. If this doesn't do it you can try heating the auger motor with a hair dryer for about 15 minutes. If this corrects the issue you will need to set the freezer temperature one number warmer and check for an air leak around the door seals or the ice door. If you could provide a valid e-mail address we can send you some troubleshooting information with illustration to aid in your repair.

Pervis, With both the refrigerator and freezer section not cooling you will want to check to see if the compressor is starting. If the compressor is not starting then it may just be a bad relay but you will want to check to make sure that there is power getting to the relay. If so then replace the relay.
