Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM12423888)

Kathy

I am having some of the same issues with the ice not dispensing as some others. I do believe the 'flipper' doesn't always close causing the ice to freeze right at the drop point for the ice. Last time we used a hair dryer to defrost the frozen ice at the neck. It was tedious and very time consuming, plus not so sure about the heat on the parts.(Even though I switch from heat to cool constantly) We are unable to remove the ice housing compartment because of the ice build up in the lower 'neck' area. So had this bright idea to take everything out of the freezer and turn the freezer off so the ice can melt, but have no idea how to turn off the freezer so we can do that. Any ideas for melting the ice or turning off the freezer?

Hello Kathy. Unplug the unit to turn it off. You can use a hair drier as long as you do not over heat it.

Patrick for Model Number RS2577SL

My Samsung has been randomly beeping for weeks. It seems to be locking and unlocking the panel, the light goes on and off with each beep. Initially, the freezer temp was fluctuating as well with the beeps and the buttons were not responding to being pushed, but now that seems to have stopped. They now work intermittently. Changing the control board looks like something I can do, but I'm also wondering if the problem could be up in the door panel. Thoughts? Thanks!

Patrick, With the issue that you are having it would be more likely that the dispenser control board DA41-00204C would be the issue. Unfortunately this control board has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

Ryan for Model Number DA97-07365G

I am having issues with my Samsung Ice maker properly making ice. My previous unit stopped making ice, so I purchased a new unit. It's having the same symptoms. The ice maker fills and freezes ice, but somehow the "flipper" that are supposed to remove the ice keep getting frozen into the ice cubs, the ice maker is then not able to flip the ice out because the cubes of ice with the flippers in them hit the top of the ice maker and get stuck. I'm unsure why the old and new ice makers are experiencing the same issues!

Hello Ryan. You need to make sure it is 0 to 5°. If it is to cold, it will cycle to early and case the fingers to get stuck.

My, Try holding the water button for 3 to 5 seconds and if this does not resolve the issue then it sounds like the dispenser control board that is faulty.

Jim for Model Number RF267AERS/XAA-0001

Have a SAMSUNG RF267AERS made Jan 2012. today we temporarly lost power and the display functions do NOT work, NO control button functions total of 6 buttons (can not set anything as far as temps or select ice options or water) It will dispense water and on the display on the left it posts 88 then 86 going back and forth, on right a solid 88. I physically unplugged and replugged from mains, a few times but has not changed the status or function. Fridge appears to be cooling and inside lights are working. any idea what is going on or how to resolve the issue with the panel function and display ?

1 Answer

Jim, The flashing from 88 to 86 would be an error code in which it is a freezer compartment sensor error in which the sensor would most likely need to be changed.

Hello Cesar. Check and make sure the door switch DA34-00051B is good on the unit. If so, it sounds like the main board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
