John M October 05, 2016 for Model Number RF263TEAESR The fridge is freezing the food in it. I set the temp to 44 F, but the fridge says it is 80F. So I am guessing the fridge is running all the time trying to cool down. I have tried unplugging to reset. Water accumulates under the crisper drawers and freezes. I have emptied ice from under drawers several times. I have looked at drain behind panel and unthawed it. Fridge still freezing items.
1 Answer John, For the issue of the drain freezing you will want to install a heater plate after you clear the ice and flush the drain. The heater plate is part number DA61-14306A. With the refrigerator getting too cold then the drain can also be affected by this. You will want to check the thermistor in the refrigerator compartment to make sure that the themistor is good. At 77 degrees the thermistor should read approximately 5K ohms of resistance. Read More...
Joe July 10, 2016 for Model Number samsung rp215lash The control panal is flashing no.1 it is not showing the temp. of freezer or frig.
1 Answer Joe, For this issue it sounds like the display control board would be the most likely cause for the unit ot have the flashing number 1 and not showing the temp. Read More...
Wendy May 21, 2016 for Model Number Samsung RSG257AARS The display board started missing some of the digits, but you could still figure it out. As of almost 2 weeks ago, the unit started warming up in the freezer, then the fresh food compartment stopped cooling. There was no frost building up. Since I was thinking this could be a compressor issue, I contacted Samsung for repair. What a joke. Still waiting, so now I'm surfing the web to try to repair myself. When the repair place did contact me, she mentioned it probably wasn't the compressor, since the display was all goofed up and most likely the main board. After investigating further, the fan is not running to the right of the compressor. Is this more of a start relay issue? Main control board? And is a new display board needing replaced or does the MCB control that? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Wendy, This is most likely the main board DA41-00524A since the relay would not affect the condenser fan motor. There is a possibility of an issue with the display board DA97-06477Z but not as likely. I would check the harness and connector at the door hinge for any damage since this is a possible issue. Jim May 17, 2016 for Model Number RB215SBB MY FREEZER WAS FROZE UP AND THE EVAPORATOR FAN WAS NOT WORKING. DEFROSTED THE FREEZER AND REPLACED THE EVAPORATOR FAN. NOW MY ICE MAKER WILL NOT DUMP MY ICE. WILL MAKE IT, BUT WE HAVE TO MANUALLY DUMP THE ICE, BY PUSHING THE LITTLE BLACK RESET BUTTON. ALSO THE REFRIDG. MAKES A POPPING NOISE. ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
1 Answer Hello Jim. Make sure the temp is 0 to 5°. If so, then you will need to replace the icemaker in the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Mike. You will need to remove the back cover for the compressor and the control board is inside that compartment on the unit. Read More...
Brian October 27, 2015 for Model Number RB215LASH The freezer evaporator is frosting up over time and the first sign of this is the ice maker does not make ice. How does this unit defrost the evaporator and what parts provide for this? Thxs Brian
1 Answer Hello Brain. You have the main control board and the evaporator assembly DA97-00192F. If the board is good that means the evaporator will need to be replaced. This requires an HVAC tech to repair the sealed system on the unit. Read More...
Dominique October 19, 2015 for Model Number Samsung fridge RB195ZASB My fridge never stops working and frezes the food. It shows the right temperature on the front panel until it reaches the set temperature and then continues to show the set temperature even if it goes lower and lower. I checked both temperature and defrost sensors.
1 Answer Hello Dominique, This will be a stuck relay on the main control board. If you could please verify the model number on the units' I.D. tag, we will be able to pull the correct part numbers for the unit in your home. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Dan August 28, 2015 for Model Number RB215LASH/XAA Problem started when refrigerator froze the food. I pulled the back panel and checked the temperature sensor from room temperature and put in glass of ice water and the temperature readings went down and stabilized. Put it back together and unplugged for over 24 hours. I restarted and temperatures went down on the readout steady until at 34 and 0. After a day, temperatures never changed on readout but warmed up to 50° in refrigerator enough to start melting the ice in the freezer. Then, a couple of hours later, the refrigerator got cold again and the ice maker started making ice and the freezer can be as low as -15° and refrigerator 28°. Temperatures on the display never change after initial cool down. It is all over the place too cold or too warm and readout never changes. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dan, You should run the diagnostics on the unit as per the tech sheet. The stored fault codes should point you in the direction of the issue. If the unit displays no codes, the issue is most likely a bad electronic control board DA41-00293A. Read More...
Dave July 22, 2015 for Model Number RB215BSSB Dave again. Sorry but forgot to shut the door when I was testing the fan so I staightend the shaft and tried it again and works so it has to be a frost up issue something is not telling it to defrost ( mother board?) or its just not defrosting when it's supposed to what do you think?
1 Answer Hello Dave. You will need to test the defrost system on the unit and see which part is bad. It could be the sensors or the heater or the board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
K May 03, 2015 for Model Number RB215BSBB My interactive display doesn't light up, only bits of it and they flash. The frig is so cold it freezes my lettuce even in the crisper drawers. Please HELP!
1 Answer K, You will want to check the sensors in the unit to make sure that they are within range. The resistance should be 5K ohms at 77 degrees, 14.4K ohms at 36 degrees and 42.2K ohms at 0 degrees. If they are not correct then this would be the cause of the freezing issue and potentially the indicator lights not working properly. The lights flashing may be an error code. Read More...
