Ted April 22, 2015 for Model Number RB215LASH My temperature(s) is not staying consistent on the freezer or refrigerator. I have already replaced the condensing fan motor, both temperature sensors, and the defrost pan in the refrigerator compartment. What should I do now?
1 Answer Ted, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board not reading the sensors properly to maintain the temps. Read More...
Mike April 15, 2015 for Model Number RB215LASH/XAA-0000 My freezer seems to constantly defrost. Right now the temperature on the door is set to -14 degrees, and when I open the door the food is covered in water from the frost melting and the ice in the ice machine is slowly melting. Later, maybe and hour, I can open it back up and I have frost everywhere and the ice is frozen solid in one big block. Problem started recently and I contributed it to the door being left open, but I checked it after one morning which gave it 8 hours uninterrupted and it was still going through some defrost cycle.
1 Answer Mike, The most likely cause for the unit continuously going through the defrost cycle would be that the defrost sensor is faulty and needing to be replaced. Read More...
Sam February 28, 2015 for Model Number RB215LABP I have bought a main control board from you. I have the fridge shut down and the plastic box that holds the board removed from the back. I can not figure out how to open the case. There are release tabs on two sides that I have released and partially pried open the case but it will not release on one side. Is there a hidden pin release someplace? Please advise how to open. Thanks
1 Answer Sam, With the cover of the control board, on the side that will not release, there is a slot that you have to make sure that it is unclipped. This will allow for the part to be able to be taken off. Read More...
Chris February 04, 2015 for Model Number RB215BSSB/XAA My ice maker quit working for over a year. I replaced the water inlet valve, and made sure the water lines to the valve were clear. It still did not work up until a few months ago, when it suddenly began making ice. It made ice for the next few months, and is now back to not working. Is this a control board issue? Also, the refrigerator has been making cracking noises for quite some time, always when the ice maker icon is switched on. Occasionally, it sounds like it a valve is opening to admit water to the ice tray, but it remains empty. The sound only happens for a five seconds or less.
1 Answer Hello Chris, This can be an electrical connection issue. I would check the door switch and the wiring harness at the door hinge. If no problems are found, it is a good bet that the issue is an issue internal to the icemaker it DA97-00258E would need to be replaced. Read More...
Russ Moore December 27, 2014 for Model Number RB195BSSW The open door alarm chimes about every 3 minutes. Checked door seals, replaced the door switch, even moved the switch to the other side (for reversing door). Occasionally the freezer light won't work and the freezer temperature on the display fluctuates between 25 and 41 degrees. I put a thermometer in freezer and it is 2 degrees. Any ideas?
1 Answer Russ, The most likely cause for this issue would be the main control board that is faulty. Read More...
Ross December 19, 2014 for Model Number Samsung RV215LASH Hey, I replaced the main control board and the condenser fan for this refrigerator because both sections (fridge and freezer) were not staying cold enough. After I replaced the two parts, it worked well but went back to not working. Is there something else that could be causing the problem? Thanks.
1 Answer Ross, You will want to check to make sure that the compressor for the unit is operating. With both sections not working it could be an issue with the start relay. Also check the thermistors of the unit to make sure that they are good. Read More...
Elmo September 09, 2014 for Model Number RB215B5BB The freezer that is located at the bottom of the refrigerator is not getting cold the digital numbers keeping jumping around and will not set back to the correct temp. What needs to be done to fix this problem?
1 Answer Hello Elmo. It sounds like the sealed system has failed and when the unit does not cool, the sensors are reading the actual temps in the unit. You will need an HVAC tech if the sealed system has failed. Read More...
Rod August 05, 2014 for Model Number RB215LABP Well, I changed the mother board after two weeks both freezer and fridge had to be manually defrosted again. What now?
1 Answer Hello Rod. Test and see if the heaters are bad in both evaporators. If so, you will need to have them replaced. However, it takes an HVAC tech to do a sealed system repair. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Todd July 22, 2014 for Model Number DA41-00293A I had a technician look at my refrigerator, I know one item was the main PCB board or panel, they want to charge a arm and a leg so they don't really tell you the part, but I know for sure one part was the PCB main board, I was able to get the part names, so I called Samsung, they gave me the main board part number which I replaced, and the other part Samsung sent me was the part number DA41-00264A, its the display in the door, would that with the main board not keep the refrigerator cold, because I replaced the main board and the display panel and the refrigerator still isn't cooling, staying at 57 to 59, I could of swore one part you had to get to from the inside of the refrigerator, so I think the display panel wasn't the part I needed to replace, the main board for sure but what part inside the refrigerator could it be
1 Answer Todd, You would be correct in regards to the display board not allowing the refrigerator side to work. In most cases when the refrigerator side is not working, the unit is not defrosting properly and it would be a defrost sensor that has failed or the main control board. You will want to check the defrost sensor. Read More...
William July 16, 2014 for Model Number RB195BSBB My refrigerator is warm. Freezer is good. I noticed my refrigerator fan was not working at all since there is no wind coming out and i can see a lot ice in my refrigerator inside wall in the winter. I got a new sensor and a new motor today. I replaced both new items. But the refrigerator fan is still not running. I do not know if the fan would keep running all the time or I have other issues, such as main board?
1 Answer William, The best way to find out if the control board is sending power to the fan would be to check from the main control board. Keep in mind that when you open the door the fan will shut off. Read More...
