Glen for Model Number RS2533SW

I just received a new ice cube tray and bracket because the tray broke the large bracket housing, which makes the ice not disperse and water dumps into the ice bin. The new tray is not the same square orig. tray, so the sensor does not clip on to the new oval ice shaped tray. My orig. tray does not disperse ice completely so that's why I order a new tray from RepairClinic.com. (They were not helpful at all and simply said "sorry".) Do you sell the clip/foam that connects to the newer oval-shaped tray so I can attach the sensor to it?

Glen, This ice cube tray is showing as being the correct part number DA63-01453B. If the ice is not completely coming out of the tray and is overfilling due to this then the tray would be the issue but also make sure that the freezer temperature is not too cold. We are not showing that there was a design change to this part but if it will not work then it would be recommended to replace the assembly DA97-00258J.

Chris R for Model Number samsung rs2533sw

I recently purchased some parts for my unit. The ice tray I purchased is a fit for my unit, but not an exact match. Difference being the old ice tray made ten smaller cubes with the sensor mounted to the center of the tray the newer ice cube makes 7 larger cubes with the sensor mounted to the end closest to the motor. The cubes are not freezing completely and when the tray twists to release the cubes they crack releasing the water from the center producing a frozen mass in the bin. Are there any settings I can adjust to limit the amount of water or extend the freeze time to remedy this? Thank you, Chris R

Chris, There are not any settings that can be changed to get the unit to not cycle as fast other than temp settings. You will want to make sure that the temperature is set for the manufacturer recommended and not any colder. If you put it past the -2 it will cause the unit to cycle the icemaker quicker because the icemaker is designed for a certain resistance reading. If this does not correct then the control board may be getting an improper signal from the icemaker and may require the control board to be replaced.
