Teresa B. December 26, 2011 for Model Number rm255barb I have a 4 door samsung fridge that the main freezer door is not working properly. The ice maker is exteremly warm and not making ice. I can tell it's not cold enough yet the lower portion of freezer (same door compartment) is still cold and I can feel the cold air blowing. But the top half is not. There are 2 holes that push cold air through the freezer and the top two seem not to be blowing any air out, but the lower ones do, I can feel the cold air. As I examied the freezer, I moved the food away from the air holes and found the wire compartment cover was off a little bit and the wires may have been exposed to the cold air. What could be wrong with my fridge? Please help!!

Don July 08, 2011 for Model Number RB215LABP/XAA The refrigerator works and the bottom freezer will not work. Also the refgerator will defrost and then freeze the water under the crisper. The temperature is at 38 degrees in fridge. The freezer fluctuates between 38-48 deg. I'm suspecting the sensor,but because the freezer will not work properly I suspect the board. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hi Don. You Need to test the sensors at normal operating temperatures only. The sensor shuts off the heater @ 50 degrees in the freezer, and at 63 degrees in the fresh food.– If the sensor is bad it may shut off the defrost circuit in a few minutes or not start, causing ice build-up, or it could lock up in defrost mode and become a total no cool. Note: A defective sensor may check OK at room temperature, test at operating temperature only. The drain pan comes with a sensor, This part # is DA97-00195H. 1 Answer Kev, At room temperature(75 dgrs F.), your thermistor should read 5.1k ohms. Your reading is way high. at 12.5k ohms the thermistor registers a temperature of 34 to 35 dgrsF.
