This is a control knob for washing machines. This control knob is used to adjust the water temperature and level settings on the unit. It is manufactured out of a white plastic. The replacement is very easy and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. All that this process involves is pulling the old knob off and sliding the new knob on.A new control knob will be needed if the original is cracked, broken, or damaged in any way. Over time, the white plastic may begin to yellow, and the user may wish to replace the control knob for cosmetic purposes. If the knob is not actuating the desired cycle, it will need to be replaced.This control knob is a genuine SpeedQueen part and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This specific control knob is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by the SpeedQueen brand.

Elsa, This timer knob has a D shaft so all you would do is grab ahold of it and pull straight off.

Marilyn, the knob will pull forward off of the timer shaft and may require that it is pulled firmly to be able to disengage the retaining clip inside of the knob.
