Kathy February 22, 2020 for Model Number WTW5810SW0 I've installed new upper agitator and agitator bolt. I don't have a torque wrench so how do I know how much to tighten the bolt. I don't want to tighten it too much and break the cam.
1 Answer Kathy, The agitator bolt can be tightened until it no longer turns without force. Once it is snugly in place and does not rotate further, the bolt should hold firmly. Read More...

Scott April 18, 2019 for Model Number WTW4910XQ3 When trying to remove the agitator bolt. The bolt won't unscrew. It sounds like it is turning the motor shaft. I am holding the drum and agitator yet the bolt still turns but does not loosen. Any suggestion for holding the shaft so I can loosen the bolt?
1 Answer Hello Scott, The only way you may be able to remove the agitator bolt in this condition is by using an impact driver. If this is unsuccessful you may have to cut the agitator out with a Dremel tool or the like so you can grasp the agitator shaft of the gearcase. You will then most likely have to change the gearcase assembly W11454741. Read More...
Rod Schaeffer February 04, 2019 for Model Number 110.29842991 the top part of the agitator came loose dog ear disenergrated my question is the bolt that holds down the bottom agitator also holds down the cam assembly the cam assembly look as if it snaps in place over the bolt
1 Answer Rod Schaeffer, typically, the top part of the agitator will separate from the bottom part, the bolt holds the bottom half of the agitator to the gear case shaft. Take the bolt out and remove the agitator, stand on the bottom part and pull the upper section of the agitator off. You should be able to replace the dogs. When you put the upper section back on, notice there are 4 slots that match up with bottom section, it should snap back into place and you can re-install the agitator assembly. Read More...

Beezy August 26, 2017 for Model Number LSR5100KQ0 I recently replaced my drive block on my whirpool washing machine. I have everything put back in place almost up until it comes time to put the agitator back in. The bolt that holds it in now just spins and spins..refusing to tighten in place. When i remove the agitator though the bolt will screw right in place below in to the spanner nut?? Not sure if im saying the right part on that sorry...the part i had to remove with spanner wrench. Either way im completely lost as to why this portion of the repair is so difficult. I took great care taking it all apart so nothing should be broken at this point. What am i missing??? Thanks in advance for any help! Desperate to get our washer back up and running!
1 Answer Beezy, You will want to make sure that the agitator is being pushed all the way down to the top of the shaft. If it is then it should screw down into the shaft. It sounds like you are not getting the part all the way down. Read More...
