For Whirlpool Window-Pac (Part Number: OEM18029088)

Kate for Model Number S125

I have wanted to clean the interior window of our oven for 22 years, and today have finally dismantled the door to attempt it. I am at the point where it looks like "I can't get there from here," with no more screws to be removed, and it looks almost like a factory seal is preventing me from getting to the glass. Makes me wonder how it ever got dirty -- but that's besides the point. My online searching leads me to think it is the Window Pac that is the problem, but it seems to be untouchable. How can I get to it?

Kate, Unfortunately the window pac will be the part that is sealed and no way to get inside to clean. You could get a new window pack WP5700M600-60.

Jim, The door window pack 5700M542-60 has been discontinued with no suitable replacement. The window pack WP5700M600-60 appears to be close to the same dimensions but we cannot say for sure that it will work for your unit.

Mrs.Fix It, Yes, the average "do it yourselfer" can replace the window pack WP5700M600-60 without a lot of difficulty. Unfortunately, there is little to no "detailed" information regarding the dismantling of the door. You will need a couple of small nails to "lock" the door open to remove it from the hinges. Open the oven door all the way, insert the nails into the opening on the hinge plate, then slowly close the oven door until the door touches the nails, then grasp the door and lift it up and off the hinges and set it face up on a padded surface on the table. Remove the perimeter screws from the door frame and lift it off the door liner and set it aside. carefully lift the door glass, handle and support frame assembly from the door liner, set it aside in a safe place(you don't want to damage or break the glass). Then remove the screws that secure the inner door pad and glass pack to the door liner. Remove the insulation(you'll want to wear a long sleeved shirt or something similar) and then the glass assembly. Reverse the procedure and test the oven for operation. Yes, you should remove the power to the product, whenever you are working on it, it better to be safe than sorry, it's only a matter of turning the breakers off at the fuse or breaker panel.

Hello Sharon. If the old gasket is still good, you can reuse it. If damaged, you will need to replace the gasket as well.

Hello Bob, the inner door glass for the lower oven door comes from the manufacturer as a window pack assembly WP5700M600-60. It is not available any other way. The inner door glass for the upper oven is MG01300299 but unfortunately it is discontinued. You should not operate the oven with the broken glass until it is replaced. Hope this helps!

Hello Senie, Open the door to the broil position and pull the door straight up off of the hinges evenly. It will install the same way. Open the hinges to the broil position and the door will slide onto the hinges evenly.
