Patricia D Raleigh , NC May 02, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range S125-C Oven door seal worn out – jenn air model s125 Ordered oven door seal Part Number Y702338 (Whirlpool AP4291897) to replace the oven door seal on 30-year old Jenn-Air model S125 downdraft slide-in range. I called AppliancePartsPros and confirmed the part number, gathered my courage and asked my son-in-law to help. Thanks to another reviewer's suggestion, we placed a piece of wood about 3/4-inch thick between each of the door hinges and the frame of the oven before removing the door (to hold the hinges open and make it easy to put the door back on). We removed the door and laid it down with the outside glass face up. We then removed the screws from the door edge trim around the door. (We taped the screws beside each hole as we removed them.) Since these are old screws, we just used a screwdriver - thankfully none were in too tightly. Next we removed the exterior door glass and laid it down in a safe place. There were two or three (?) more panels to remove before reaching the final panel where the seal is installed. We removed the screws in each panel, taped them in place, and placed the pieces aside in order as we went. When we reached the last two panels, we found it easier to turn it over and lift off the final exterior panel (the one with the seal). Otherwise the interior glass window and insulation falls out. This is where it’s really nice to have two people, especially when it’s time to put these two pieces back together again. The seal sits on the inside of a lip on the final panel. Just lift it out and set the new seal in. After the new seal was set in place, we then carefully flipped the other panel over onto the exterior panel making sure the seal and insulation were in place. We then reassembled the other parts in reverse order, cleaning as we went. It took about an hour, start to finish. Thanks to the other reviewers for their helpful comments. It not for them, I would not have considered doing this. If ‘granny’ can do it, so can you! Just take your time and keep track of what you are doing. Jennifer W Medford Lakes , NJ October 23, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range S160-C Jennair downdraft/inner glass had shattered I ordered a Window Pac and a new oven door seal for this project. Our oven is 25+ years old and still works...I wasn't sure how easy or hard this would be, so initially I delayed ordering these parts for three weeks! I read up on 'how to' approach taking the door apart...and once I put two large nails in each hole on the door hinge, I was confident I could do this. As another reviewer wrote, the only tool you need is a phillips head screwdriver. I wore my headlamp flashlight so I could easily see what I was doing. I was careful to keep all the screws for the door separate from the inner assemblyscrews. I vacuumed all the shattered glass, cleaned the inner door panel, replaced the parts and screwed it all back together. I did this by myself and honestly it would have been helpful to have an extra set of hands to keep the door 'innards' in place, but I was able to do it. I was carefult to really look at which way the window pac should face....one side has an insulation cord that needs to face towards the inside of the oven. I was told the delivery would take 2-5 business days....the boxes where delivered to my home THE NEXT DAY! Also, this company has the best prices on these replacement parts. I am very satisfied overall, both in this company, and in my ability to do this repair. It amazes me how well this oven was made....I don't even want to think about what the eventual replacement will be like! PS....you should all know I did this without the help of my husband, so ladies, you can do this too! Stephen R North Chesterfield , VA June 28, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Range- S/I Std Ddraft Ele D140-C Door seal frayed and worn out Fairly straightforward repair. Remove the 2 scews holding the door to the hinges and remove the door. Then, remove several layers of screws to get to the seal. There are a lot of them, but they are obviuos. Replace seal and reverse process. Be carfeful removing the screws. Because of age, several of them were frozen. I stripped the head on one of them, and eventually had to use a drill and screw extractor (which worked fine). You might want to get some 8x1/2 sheet metal screws before you start. I replaced all of the old srews on the innermost panel with new ones. I used a tip from the comments here. Replacing the door on the hinges is difficult because the hinges are spring loaded. To make it easy, wedge small blocks of wood in the hinges to hold them open. The door then slides on the hinges easily. Kenneth M Lemont Furnace , PA September 09, 2014 Appliance: Model JENN AIR S125 Oven seal was wore out Replaced it with a new seal. It took much longer because I did not have a parts book and your video did not show how to replace a seal that is mounted on the door or how to get the door off of the stove. Also the seal should be made smaller at the bottom. Had to remove the door the second time and pinch the seal inside the door to make it seal all around. Leslee D East Quogue , NY October 20, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Electric Wall Oven WW2780B-C The seal on oven door deteriorated The whole door had to be taken apart to install new seal. During the procedure we broke the Barrier Glass and the part was discontinued so we had to have a piece made. Once we received the new glass we continued with the repair. Appliance Parts sent the seal immediately, too bad we broke the inner glass!
